We are all in love with D.C. 😍 He’s brought back the buzz, excitement and everyone on be same side. It’s been many a year since I’ve experienced an atmosphere quite like today’s. Before the game kicked off, there’s bloke’s with their tops off all jumping around to Allez allez allez super Darrell Clarke. We sold out the away end at Northampton with many in the home end. The Darrell Clarke factor has bit us badly. I thought we were supposed to start off crap though? 😉 Haha maybe it was just us he started crap with! Honestly I'm delighted for you guys but more importantly DC. The guy will manage at the top one day so enjoy him whilst hes there! Legend and in my eyes our best ever manager. It still hurts that hes not here. He'll say it how it is. Scrappy away win? DC will say its scrappy but away from home it's the scrappy kinda win you need. Heck, teams going for promotion win the scrappy games away from home. I'm sure you guys will be at the right end of the table this season. He's right at home that level to be fair. Far from convinced he's tactically switched on enough to manage beyond League One but time will tell.

One of his many strengths was his ability to adapt to situations in games, never being restricted to Plan A and be able to produce teams that could play more than one way.

One of his many strengths was his ability to adapt to situations in games, never being restricted to Plan A and be able to produce teams that could play more than one way. I think that was the case in L2, where perhaps he was up against less innovative managers and you could afford to start poorly and not get punished as much. The multiple changes and poor starting setups seemed to take their toll far more towards the end of his reign. Genuinely don't think he would get away with that managing any higher.

Blimey this is all a bit silly isn’t it. It portrays a kind of neediness amongst some of posters. I don’t get it. Managers come and go, players come and go but BRFC, the club is always here and it’s the club and the quarters that I support. Liked DC when he was here and I respected what he did, one of our most important managers at a time when we needed it most. Come the end I suspect he knew exactly what he was doing, talking himself out of a job and involving himself in political stuff that he didn’t need to do. Had we been at the top of the table, playing well and having a competitive team he might have got away with it with us fans at least.Unfortunately we were pretty poor up until December, his recruitment in the Summer, for whatever reason, was poor and the players looked uninterested. In those circumstances he concentrates on the football side to turn it around. He chose not to or something else and he went. The club is always more important imo. As it was GC came in and put an organisation into the team that had been lacking and which suited the players we had. It wasn’t pretty but it turned us into a competitive team that could win matches. Again, he was able to recruit a forward to get goals. It might have been luck but it was something we had lacked since Matty T. Eventually he will also move on and someone else will come in. Good luck to all of them, thanks for the memories you left and I hope DC has a great season at Walsall. But let’s all move on and not sound so bl**** needy! 😀 UTG!

Even in our lows last season, we weren’t actually dominated like we are today (Luton certainly) but today to be dominated by Blackpool is a disgrace. We often had a lot of shots on target and today only one so far Fred, even in our lows last season (Wigan, Preston, Sheffield Wednesday) we weren't actually dominated like we have been today by Leeds. We often have a lots of shots on target and only one today so far. It's a disgrace.
Oh sorry, wrong forum!

Look, experience suggests that had DC been our manager for yesterday's game, after going 1 down he would have probably thrown caution to the winds, gone gung-ho and we would have ended shipping 4 or 5.
He's long gone. Let's thank him for he good times and move on.

It's one game in. Let's not get carried away. DC has to prove himself still at Walsall and our season isn't over with GC in charge - in fact he's already earned his stripes by keeping us up.

Sorry that would be Gerry Francis ( 1st time ) who had zero budget, zero players and took us to the second tier with a squad half the size of what we had under DC whilst making a good profit on transfer dealings. Worse stadium, worse training ground and never moaned about it ever.
Anyway regardless DC was a close second, but suspect he might have been managing us in L2 if he had stayed. Burnt out when he left us, so good he has come back motivated and will no doubt do a good job where he is.
Having said that, at the moment GC has my full support, and deserves it for keeping us up. In all honesty he has had very little to spend compared with DC and still has to deal with a playing squad made up of some poor signings that were down to DC.

Highest position since holloway era i believe?

Not missing him at all but we are missing the beard Should have kept him in the squad along with James Clarke and Chris lines playing until we had a replacement. If we don’t sign a good creative player before the window closes we’ll be bottom 6 come Christmas. People will say they’ve dropped down so thats their level but all three have done enough in the last three league 1 seasons to suggest that they’re good enough. Not players that will get a league 1 side promoted but have we strengthend will them leaving ? I’m not sure we have and I think Cogs has got rid because they were 3 of DCs players through his time and he wants a clean slate, fair enough but he’ll live or die by these decisions and I’m not too optimistic he’s getting these decisions right. We’ll see.

It doesn't matter what he does this season, next season, or what he failed to achieve in his last season with us.
History will judge him as a Gas legend alongside the best of them.

Its not just about missing dc blah blah. For me the 10th place league one season in which we played some really good attacking football but also a displayed few frailties should be a normal rovers season not an exceptional once in 20 years one. But lets remember its just one game and lots of posters are on record predicting a very high finish so i'm sure all will turn out well.
