I just find that deplorable, and there are idiots on the FB page glorifying it, and saying that singing that song was their favourite part of the day. Quite right to make it a hostile and intimidating atmosphere for MT, and have a bit of fun with the plastic snakes, but some people went way beyond that. I'm beginning to think that maybe this club is not for me anymore. This club is for you TT. Those idiots should bugger off! Well said, Tilly you cannot let those idiots stop you going! This club has its nasty element but they will never represent the good in our fan base. They do need eradicating though, maybe the club could start to monitor social media closely and start issuing bans. I came off all forms of social media 3 years ago and it’s the best thing I ever did.

I understand the feelings towards Taylor and some people really dislike/hate him because of what happened ... but to sing that on the day of remembering a former player who has sadly passed away seems crass at best! What was the chant. I didn't hear anything?

What was the chant. I didn't hear anything? You want the thread locked because it might embarrass the club but now you want somebody to publish the embarrassing words to a chant? As far as the OP, what sad Gashead would search social media just to track down our manager's daughter to abuse her just because we lost a football match, that's as about as low as a "fan" can get. What good do they hope they would achieve anyway.

And we are supposed to be a “family” club, just shows that there are bad apples in every barrel and the few can make it all look so bad for all the true fans.

Outrageous.
If I knew any of their identities Id have a quiet word with GC and pass the info on.
I doubt they'd repeat the mistake after a couple of minutes with him.

Agreed. Don't think we should rush to accuse City fans for this and a lack of class when we had a large number of fans singing about partying when Matty Taylor dies - on the day we remembered a former player who has just died at a ridiculously young age. Embarrassing. With respect you would find chanting like that whichever club you go to, I would gently suggest that if you are looking for a club where this sort of thing doesn’t happen then you might have to switch games and go and watch rugby or something but even then I suspect you still might hear stuff you wish you hadn’t. It’s an odd thing about football that people get the idea of “our fans aren’t like that” when no fan base is inherently special, when you get thousands of people together a small percentage are going to be idiots, that’s just human nature, unfortunately.

We can't blame anything which is unsavoury on them - we have our own share of idiots who bring the club down. Agreed. Embarrassing. im glad im not the only one who was disgusted by that chant. some of those 'fans' in the thatchers end are dogshit losers.

I could not have been more embarrassed hearing that chant go out. Merely ten minutes after a moment of remembrance for Junior. This combined with the news about GC’s daughter, some people are out and out scumbags and we have a fair few of them.

I thought the behaviour by Rovers fans to an ex player who made a massive contribution to two promotions was an absolute disgrace. In the time he was with us this guy did more than any other player in getting the club back on track, I hope our club reaches out to him and in private at least makes an apology to him. As for the abuse at our managers daughter, I am absolutely speechless.

Embarrassing. yeah I don’t like the bloke myself but wishing him dead then having a party about it is a bit ott Embarrassing to hear Actually calling him a snake is embarrassing enough, makes us sound like a bunch of sad losers, who really don’t understand the reality of ‘loyalty’ in professional football...and whilst I’m on the subject the Wycombe vendetta is no better.

The best thing that happened today was when Taylor went off, so that Dam distraction was gone

Maybe the chant was a bit out of place. But at the end of the day it was just a joke- a bad one. But that’s what football is about, the pc brigade won’t stop until they have sucked the life out of the world. I don’t agree the chant but I don’t really care either, it was just a tonge in cheek song. Agogo was my favrouite player as a kid and I mainly attended the game today to honour him.

The best thing that happened today was when Taylor went off, so that f**king distraction was gone Arguably the best thing that could have happened for us today. Until he did leave the pitch, zero support for our boys and constant City/Taylor songs. Hideous. Even when the sides came out of the tunnel it was booing & ‘s**thead chants. Barely 8k is low, but anyone whose putting abusing MT above support for own lads can stay at home.

Could tell that GC was very upset about some of our idiots attacking his daughter on social media and fair play to him for bringing it out into the public arena. If anyone on here is responsible, why not do the decent thing and apologise to her on the same social media. I agree to abuse the managers daughter on social media is disgraceful, if it is anyone reading this thread then I suggest they right a letter of apology to Gc his daughter and the rest of the family as I suspect this has effected them all. Surely these idiots realise that GC daughter has nothing to do with how the team is managed, if it wasn't for GC we would have been playing league 2 football this season .

We have a large bunch of supporters that are no better than those on the other side of the river. they were the ones chanting that "they would have a party when Taylor was dead!, and this on a sad day when we were remembering Junior Agogo.
Morons is a word far far above their understanding

Morons is a word far far above their understanding “Yer but it’s all just a laff mate” Is what I would expect in response. Brain dead morons every single one of them. It slightly soured an otherwise brilliant day in the beautiful August sun.
