Surprised so many people think he will leave in the middle of the season. Yeah, alright Bodin and Taylor left in January but one had 6 months left on his contract and the other had a release clause. JCH has neither of those things so we would have to be silly to sell him when he is our main source of goals and optimism this campaign.
Keep him in January, let him rack up 20+ goals this season and see where that takes us. Then we will have all summer to start a bidding war when clubs are looking to invest in their squads and that will give us time to reinvest the money in a replacement and other areas of the team ready for next season.

I don't know if there is a gram of truth in this but he is contracted to us but for sure they will not get him for the money they paid for MT Roy DeAlien @roydealien Follow Follow @roydealien More 👀 January is going to kick right off. Bristol City have been in contact with Bristol Rovers star Jonson Clarke-Harris's agent and the player would jump at a move across the city. City are adamant on getting him in Jan. Hold on to your seats it's going to get bumpy. #bcfc #brfc

If we are still flirting with the playoffs in January and we sell JCH, I’ll be absolutely fuming. This could be the best opportunity to get into the Championship that we have had since that Holloway season. I look at our league and I don’t see all that much to fear.

He’s settled, happy, wants to play out the season and doesn’t want to move but at the same time if the bids come in, the club accept them and the bidding club is bigger, better and offering more money then that’s football! What will be, will be!

Apart from the hilarious name, why on earth would the city want to sign him? After all there certainly not having any problems scoring goals, but no doubt some will claim Lansdown will just buy him to stop us having any chance of promotion. Another sh**e idiot on twitter on the wind up! Let’s hope so. There was supposed to be a gentlemans agreement that it wouldn’t happen again but we know, by the ridiculous campaign, when snake went there, that SL and his lot are certainly no gentlemen plus he is on record as saying in future, no one will talk of Bristol Rovers. Having said that, a number of 82 have even passed comment that it’s nonsense but this is Rovers so you never know

We will probably lose 1.5 to 2 million this year. If a player wants to go and double his money and we get offered £1.5 mill the club has little choice.

Still think this. It would be stupid to sell our top scorer in January and blow our best chance of reaching the playoffs we’ve had for a while. We’ll still be able to make good money off him in the summer when he’s still under contract and championship clubs are looking to splash the cash. I just hope the board can hold its nerve on this and back Coughlan to give us a fighting chance.

But thankfully for us, his injuries would have lowered his fee a bit, yet won't have changed our valuation. I think the contract talks stalled while he was injured, but hopefully they're back on again and we sign him onto a long contract. Personally, I think he won't move - but like you say, if someone offered £1.5m - we wouldn't turn it down

For a club in a playoff position to even consider selling one of the top goal scorers in the entire football league (the calender year) for £1.5mil in today's market is embarrassing.

Whatever happened to the supposed new contract talks that was put on hold when he got injured? I can't see why suffering a minor calf strain would mean contract talks were put on hold, it's not like it was an ACL/leg break which was career threatening. Watching is reaction to ever goal on Saturday doesn't suggest he's not committed to the club.
