We should've had a match day thread today in memory of Bury.

Couldn’t have gone any better. This gives a true representation now. Can’t believe Coventry got beat 4-0 by Rotherham. This league really is madness when it comes to teams beating each other.

With the possible exception of Ipswich, there isn't a team in this league that we should be scared of. Just look at last weeks opponents Rotherham, we comfortably beat them in the end and they've just gone and put 4 past Coventry.
When you consider that we've got JCH banging them in up top and a solid defence, this is the best chance since we've been back in L1 of reaching the playoffs. Long way to go of course but things are going well so far.

Football may not be pretty but the table's looking good at the mo. Looking straight ahead now, not in the rear view mirror.

That’s part of my issue with Coughlan, it seems like we play like the away team even when at home so our opponents will routinely have the better of the game. Whilst we are winning it’s not a problem, but it’s hard to sustain that situation for 46 games and come out at the end of it massively in credit in the wins column.

However, that's going some - only conceding 5 in those games.

Way too early to be worrying about what other sides are doing. Only matters in the run in. Looking forward to Saturday UTG.

Well a lot of us were actually there, and I can say that it wasn't all Rotherham. It was a very evenly fought game which we won by virtue of having JCH in our team. If you're going knock the Gas this season, at least have the decency to go to the game or watch it on ifollow.

It wasn’t all Rotherham and yes it was fairly comfortable as I don’t remember many Rotherham chances that threatened us. They were a decent team but just lacked in end product. We aren’t where we are down to luck, look at the stats for most of the games that we’ve played this season. With the exception of a couple of the away defeats, we’ve had more possession and created more chances. Coughlan’s style may not be pleasing on the eye but it’s giving us the edge over our opponents and long may that continue.

Long way to go of course but things are going well so far. I was watching us last week and got the feeling that we are good, very good for this league but we as fans are not sure of it right now. We've got a top GK for L1,a very good defense and now a decent balance in our midfield. We have one of,if not the best forwards in L1 right now banging them in.Its early still, but I would be very suprised if we are not challenging for the playoffs come may.Keep JCH and add to our squad in 12 weeks and you never know. Luton did it last year, and it was a tougher league than this.Only Ipswich look better than the rest of us in L1 right now.

Just like we will lose JCH in Jan.

I was there and thought the first half was even and we were the better side in the second half , scored and could have had a couple more and were deserved winners. 1-0 to us flattered them if it had been 2-0 or 3-0 they couldn’t have had any complaints. In terms of pre match and post match interviews I can’t take to Coggers I find him boring but he’s doing the business for our club and deserves massive credit for keeping us up last season and getting us to the edge of the top six this term. Struggling Championship and top league 1 club owners will be watching with interest for sure .

Never will we have a better chance to establish a top 6 berth. No one wants it in this league from the off. Securing that play off spot going into Christmas should be the aim from here, we are more than capable.

"That's part of my issue with Coughlan". Well the whole of my issue with you is that you have an issue with Coughlan. I get that this was an opinion a couple of months ago but right now he's deserved the absolute respect of every gashead. Hard to sustain over 46 games? Have a look over the 30 something games coughlan has been in charge, let me know how many wins and his win % then we can have a conversation about football. Idiot.

I can see both sides to this argument. Cogs style of play isn’t flamboyant or open, its structured and organised and each player is expected run and battle on and off the ball. It’s proving to be very very effective as our league position shows and if you take in his calendar year which someone put up here the other week his win percentage was something like 44%. Rotherham was not as one sided as the radio comms made out and we were on top for large periods. They couldn’t out battle us and JCH took his best chance to score. Cogs doesn’t have the interpersonal skills with the media and fans that DC did, but personality points don’t win you football games
