Bristol rovers enter contract discussions with jch, jch sounds off on social media about lack of loyalty, jch suddenly injured for 5-6 weeks, no news on new contract - January window incoming. He will come back to get form ahead of the window once he’s over his niggles! Call me cynical! I missed the sounding off on social media. What was he saying? I can’t find it now but was cryptic and non specific so could have been about anything. Boro, PNE, hull and reading all interested! Not much of a choice to stay! I hope we’ve learnt our lessons after MT! No new deal so far doesn’t fill me with confidence tho!

Do we know: -how JCH sustained this mysterious non-training injury -what the injury was -why GC is so unhappy about the circumstances -if we're ever likely to see JCH in the quarters again ?? Very worrying, shame on those in charge for not tying him down to a new contract.

JCH, like all others before him, will be off as soon as a Championship club becomes interest, who can blame him ? Rovers should now be looking for three or four more cash-cows with a view to bringing one or two in during the January transfer window. With no training facilities and a tented ground no player is going to stay if something better comes along.

DC was reluctant to offer players very long contracts as it had backfired in the past. The release clause was something we couldn’t really control as he was a free agent at the time and was about to join Oxford so the player held all the cards. I guess the fact the release clause became common knowledge was a kick in the teeth.

He’s a bit injury prone I think any big club would think twice! He's not though, as I posted elsewhere over the last 5 seasons he's averaging 33 games a season. His last two seasons he featured in over 40 games.
