I fully support playing loan players when they are BETTER than what we have. In this case I do not believe that either of our loans are good enough. So you know that nichols and moore are better than the 2 loan forwards? Ps i know moore has gone out on loan.

The Maldon & Tiptree lads Danny Parish and Jorome Slew would definitely be worth a trial. As a youngster Slew was rated as a better prospect at the same age than his brother Jordan who represented England at youth level, but unfortunately suffered a broken leg that halted his progress. Barnsley gave him an extended trial while he was banging in the goals playing for Mousehole down in Cornwall following his release by Sheffield United. Parish was top scorer with Brentford at three different age groups and scored goals against the Barcelona, Valencia, Inter Milan and Liverpool youth teams during his time at the club. Since dropping into non-league he has scored 62 goals in 72 games. Pace to burn and great finishing, definitely worth a trial Can you in all honesty see that happening?

God that sounds depressing Steve. I reallyt don't know what to think of us this season. Living up north, the only game ive seen so far was Rochdale. Im the forever optimist who thinks we are suddenly going to spark into life and start playing attractive , attacking football. I watched the oxford game yesterday and they looked pretty good. Does anyone think that GC is going to change the style or are we stuck with it while he's in charge I think we’re stuck with GC playing this style in the top half of league 1 for now. Joking aside I think he’s getting the best tune out if this current squad because we’ve got little pace at the moment, a few injuries and no creative midfielder. He’s doing the best pretty much any manager could do with what he’s got. If you know you have no creativity then why dump Lines?

Lines was exactly the kind of player we’re crying out for but I’m not convinced he still is. But yes a Chris lines type of ball player in front of two of upson, Clarke or ogogo in a 3-5-2 with everybody fit and without JCH sold in jan and we’d make top 6. Unfortunately i can’t see any of those things happening.

I fully believe Smith is good enough but you’re right about Adeboyejo. I know Tyler has put in a couple of poor performances recently but alongside JCH he was creating a good partnership. He makes himself a nuisance for defenders and tries to run in behind them which JCH benefits from, scored a lovely goal against Gillingham too. JCH and Smith should be the two up front we go with from now on imo, until January at least.

Agree. The manager can only play a style of play with the players at his disposal. Playing a type of football with players who are uncomfortable with that style is the height of folly. In such circumstances, it usually ends in tears with the manager eventually departing. Give GC a chance. Despite disquiet from a number of quarters we are currently one point off the play offs. This time last year we were languishing at the other end of the table. UTG I'm not complaining about the league position, of course, but I do think it's false. Teams below us have games in hand, we haven't been the same since JCH was injured, and we have looked awful in midfield and up front all season. Once JCH leaves in January, it'll be a long difficult journey to keep out of danger. I do think GC has it in him to ensure we don't actually get into that position, but it will be grim to watch, and we will see crowds dipping ever-lower. Love Eeyore

If you know you have no creativity then why dump Lines? Because like the bread in my cupboard, he's past his best 1 spark of magic per game like the winner against Barnsley is all we need to open up defences, can you honestly say that any of upson ogogo or Clarke are remotely capable of doing that? The legs may have gone meaning he cant do a headless chicken impersonation but at least the brain isn't and that is what we are lacking

A combination of Upson, Ogogo and Clarke is guaranteed not to open up opposing defences. Any two (preferably Upson and Ogogo on current form) with a creative midfielder (horfully to be obtained in January) will make us a more balanced and creative team.
Sadly, Chris Lines is not the answer. He would have been once but his best days are behind him. We need to be recruiting players who will help us consolidate in the upper reaches of L1 with a view to the playoffs. Chris no longer fits that bill.
