To be honest it could have been a decent blog, but because a few lads gave them a bit of hassle at the back of the Thatchers they rubbished everything about Rovers & bigged up city. If they can’t understand the rivalry between the Bristol clubs I take it they’ve never seen their beloved Villa play at St Andrews.

They were at the Shrewsbury game as well. In the video for that ( ) they mention that they will be at the Mem in a few weeks and call us the biggest team in Bristol. I hope they attend more of our games if it means we score 4 each time

This is the video in question. Stood right behind me in the Thatcher's end before being "persuaded" to move.

I agree with most on here, perhaps as people write in we can collate names of those who sadly passed during a season & at the last home game of the season, they can read the names out and then a minutes applause for those we lost I’ve always liked the bit at the end of BBC sports personality of the year where the name and pictures of sportsmen and women who have passed away during that year appear on screen. We should do something similar with appropriate poignant music behind it (Not Rod Hull and Emu) which would be a good use of our big screen. Follow it with a minutes applause and jobs a good un. On the subject of the big screen has anyone at the club thought of putting a different sequence of gas goals on the screen? Some great memories of Lambert, Igoe, Stewart, Cureton etc but wouldn’t mind seeing some others. The only additions since we eventually got someone to wire the plug seem to involve Geoff Stelling’s ugly mug!

There are often anti City songs of course, as I also constantly hear at Ashton gate if they’re ever on radio - but constantly checking our phones to see the city result? They have a video of one bloke checking the score (which is fair enough) whilst everyone else is watching the game. And then after the game is done, apparently an older lady asked how city got on.. funny, you’d have thought she’d known as she was checking her phone all game.. Sounds like they just got a bit upset because some teenagers forced them to move because they thought they were smart enough to come into our end and bad mouth the club. And they have the cheek to call themselves football fans? There was me think villa fans were classy, clearly the slums of Birmingham have taken their toll on 2 of those kids in the video

This is why we need to take every request for a Gashead minutes applause across any given season & save them for a collective ‘celebration’ of lives in the last home game. As demonstrated yesterday, Lance Cook can deliver a truly exceptional tribute speech. How the family must have felt yesterday when Southend knocked in the first and the whole ground went deadpan & stopped clapping. I also feel this happens so often now, the ‘applause’ as it were is quite half hearted. As demonstrated by the two gentleman next to me, “What’s going on now?” “Oh someone else has gone & died!” Charming. I would agree with this. Although I have not attended a match for a long time, going by what people have said now and in the past, a more fitting tribute would be a minutes applause at the last home game with their names flashed up on the big screen.

Exactly what is required in my opinion.

As an aside France gas. Three young lads came and stood by us in the west enclosure yesterday. I jokingly said to the one by me, "what are young young lads doing in here with all us old boys"? Turns out they were french students on a three week internship in Bristol. He had seen us three years ago in a preseason game against Swansea and decided to give us another go. Like us they were not to happy with the first Half, but they thoroughly enjoyed the second.

One individual checking City scores on his phone = every Bristol Rovers fan checking City scores on their phone. Go figure.
As mentioned, it seems they were upset at receiving a shove & took it upon themselves to blow smoke up the backsides of those across the river for the rest of their video. Very strange indeed.

The group of let's say more mature adults I stand with are interested in keeping up with scores in other games during the match including City. I'm happy to oblige as I am also interested. Does that make me a bad person and does that disqualify me from being a gashead?
