This is why we need to take every request for a Gashead minutes applause across any given season & save them for a collective ‘celebration’ of lives in the last home game. As demonstrated yesterday, Lance Cook can deliver a truly exceptional tribute speech. How the family must have felt yesterday when Southend knocked in the first and the whole ground went deadpan & stopped clapping. I also feel this happens so often now, the ‘applause’ as it were is quite half hearted. As demonstrated by the two gentleman next to me, “What’s going on now?” “Oh someone else has gone & died!” Charming. Yes completely devalues it. Should be reserved for significant ex players and great servants to the club like the dunfords. Anyone else should be celebrated end of season. Are you saying Stuart Taylor was insignificant? If so I’d beg to differ. I fully expect his record of appearances will never be beaten and he stayed with the club all of his pro career

Oh wait I mean - “oo arr, just got back from being in the away end with Millwall, the city is blue” - or whatever that fake corporate football bullshit line is that sky sports tells fans to believe these days

On the theme, in my life time there has been infiltration into our main end in past..
Twerton: WBA, we all know how that ended!
Birmingham year after. Police ring fenced them but a few took some slaps.
Any others?
Apart from that, I know away fans have been in our end but they keep stuum and that's fair enough..

I’m saying that they’re done so frequently they’re meaningless and they should be saved for players like Stuart, and notable club stalwarts, and not overused.

One of the Leeds games when they used to routinely spank us at home I think.

Again, Twerton, vs the teds, one in the home end behind the goal, fat piece of crap, got smacked about and then dumped over the barrier.

We used to have s head quite regularly at Twerton....John Atyeo was semi regular watching us lot versus whomever back in the day. I hope it wasn't him!(?)
