Many fans didn't like Aaron Lescott, but he became a legend (modern definition). Many fans didn't get Tony Craig, but he is now a hero (modern definition). I fully expect Graham Coughlan to follow them. Many fans still think Tom Nichols will come good. The number of people that think something has no bearing on whether or not it's true.

Nichols links better with our best striker than anyone else. When they play together we’re better than we are than when they don’t. A football team is a sum of its parts. Emile Heskey wasn’t a great player but when Michael Owen had Heskey alongside him Owen was at his best. If we start my with Adeboyjo or Smith alongside JCH I won’t give us as much hope on Saturday as I would if it’s a JCH - Nichols partnership.

Was chatting to a couple of Plymouth supporters at the cup game who ventured to the 'superstore' Seemed very impressed and surprised that we had a decent shop in a crap ground. I asked about their new stand and got the reply that it's purely for the corporate market and nothing for your average fan who just wants to watch a game and have a pie & pint. That's the way it is Surely that's the best way though? If you can drive up your average spend through corporate boxes/hospitality/non-matchday stuff it's better for the club and the everyman fans in the long run (through the gradually improved facilities).

I suspect we will v Posh as it's a big game. Can't see it for lesser opponents unless we go even higher in the table - sad really. Where are the vocal teenagers and 20 somethings ? I doubt we'll get a big gate for the last game before Christmas, just a pity the fixtures computer didn't swap it with the Wimbledon game on Boxing Day, plus who'd send fans all the fans to Fleetwood for a festive fixture, that's just madness. It's quid a kid v Peterborough and the school holidays !

I’ll probably get torn apart for this but will just give my honest opinion here.. after GC was given the job permanently I was very unhappy, and by the end of the season I had no interest in renewing my season ticket.. but I ended up doing it anyway, and this season even sitting 5th right now I think we’re a rubbish footballing team and I get extremely fed up of watching just about every game, despite what the league currently says I still feel like not renewing next season, I simply don’t like GC, I don’t like the football, and I’m not entertained in the slightest, just my opinion and not stating any of this as fact so I don’t care much for anyone’s counter arguments, even tho I’m sure I’ll get plenty, nobody is gonna convince me otherwise. I love the gas but I’m tired of sitting in the stand wanting to hand myself Christ mate if you were entertained by the second half on Saturday you really need to find a new hobby! Problem is what do we want attractive losing football or grinding out results winning football. I'd imagine we'd take a reasonable following to Ipswich on Saturday, would most of them bother going if they knew we were likely to lose heavily whilst playing attractive football? I will give you that, I came to the game very sick and went home at half time, I don’t regret it either as I was genuinely to sick to even celebrate a goal, I shouldn’t have come in the first place. But I’ve just never taken to the man and his style, as I said I’m sure I’ll be torn apart but it’s just my opinion. People don’t need to get bent out of shape it’s not like I make decisions at the club lol

My personal opinion is that Nichols isn't an out an out striker, it was my opinion when we signed him that we hadn't signed a striker. I think he's a good player to have in behind a front 2. Cogs is right that his best position and form is when he is linking play and he does do that much better than he does 1 on 1 in front of goal. I think Cogs has gotten more out of Nichols than DC ever had and that's a miracle in itself. The crossroads in his career is does he drop down a level and try and regain his scoring shoes or does he convert his game and improve to be that hole player. I think GC is doing a fantastic job with us. I can't wait to see if he can make good additions in January.

Exactly this. One of the reasons I have a season ticket in a box is so I can take my young son who is under 2 to games. He's nice and warm most of the time, its a safe environment for him to watch the game from (he loves football already both live and on the TV) and I still get to go and spend time with him and hopefully brainwash him to support the gas!! I couldn't do that now on our terraces or even in some of the seated areas of our ground. I know lots of other parents along the hospitality boxes with young kids that do the same. The more you have the more accessible that becomes and prices can also reduce slightly with offers and special packages for non season ticket access who want to do one or a few matches a year. I don't think there is any boxes available at the mem this year and hasn't been since the first season back in L2. Also corporate stands create use outside of match days. Ashton Gate make great use of theirs which drives income up further.

Exactly. Proves that this "TN is the key link" is confirmation bias rubbish. One pen and a goal with him on. Two goals from open play with him off. Plus the attacking play in the last 20 minutes was light years better.

That place makes this place look rose tinted. Honestly if we broke ground on a new stadium tomorrow, cleared all of our debts, gave GC 10 million to spend in January, they still find something to complain about. Maybe look over more than one thread. That lot, as you put it, are our lot. We all follow the same team but you just don’t get the silly stuff there. This place is much more active but still no more or less real information

If GC and the team can get something on Saturday that will do our promotion push a real chance.
