Of the things I didn't expect to see today, this is up there. The timing is just so bizarre, 4th in L1 and beaten Ipswich away from home and GC is willing to walk away to go to a club 18th in L2? The atmosphere next week at the mem could get really hostile if this does transpire and the board has anything to do with it. People will slate the board but this is clearly a personal decision based on geography. No other reason you'd make such a huge gamble. I would agree with that but he was sounding rather like DC did in his final days bemoaning a lack of a budget to work with in his interview and according to the BP, this has factored into play. The board have a lot to answer for in any case.

Ah well, I've backed him to the hilt. He can f**k off, now. Perhaps jumping the gun ? Who knows maybe his wife has said you come back up north or I can’t stay with you. Must be hard with kids and your partner is working hundreds of miles away and you and the kids only see them for a few hours a week. Maybe one if his kids are ill. Could be anything. Let’s wait and see before we tell him to f**k off eh ?

Mansfield have parted company with John Dempster. Cogs has been tapped. MTFC obviously had a word with GC. GC (I guess) tells them he will join them. GC tells the players he going. GC tells the press he's going home for a think and it will depend on how he wakes up in the morning. MTFC sack their manager and announce they're on the lookout for a new one. Big Dam mess if GC wakes up in a Rovers mood.

Now Mansfield have sacked their manager, this is all more than a coincidence. I fully get the need for GC to think of his family first and that commute will be far better for him but I can’t help but feel that if he had assurances about where this club was going and was given some money in January then I think that being away from family would be that little bit easier and with the backing, perhaps they may have even moved down here. A lot have been calling for his head even up to last week and it looks like they now have their wish but in the words of Joni Mitchell “ Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got till it's gone” I'm certain this is true. Why else would he say I dont know where I can take this club? Looks to me like they've told him to sell in Jan and its tipped the balance for him towards being closer to home. It is really weird though. Only at Rovers.

He knew where his family would be staying when he signed for us. So I'm sorry, that excuse doesn't sit right with me. He got his stock up with us, now he's fuc*ing off, Mansfield have been splashing the cash lately, so probably chasing the money.

People will slate the board but this is clearly a personal decision based on geography. No other reason you'd make such a huge gamble. He wanted to stay at Southend, then came to us when they didnt want him. Neither anywhere near where his family lives Maybe he uses the same atlas as Lee Brown.

People need to wake up and realise splashing the cash in L1 isn't going to happen in this climate.

He has been here 18 months ive been told, suddenly he is manager and we are 4th, now he wants to leave? Something wrong... the owners.

Knew there was a reason I couldn't like him despite the on the pitch results. Could smell the snake in him. Gonna be well funny if he turns them down with the over reaction on here. (Most of what I'm saying is tongue in cheek).

Bit rich GC calling for support then watering off to bloody Mansfield of all places... The AQ’s have no money and that is an issue, don’t get me wrong. But for them to give this guy a shot and he breaks his contract to go to Mansfield with us in 4th?! Off you f**k GC and take your prehistoric football with you. I was right not to warm to him.
