I'm sure Walsall would love to get rid and receive compensation into the bargain. Sounds a great idea.

I wouldn't be against Ollie getting the job if he brought Penrice back with him. I spoke to Pennie today and he’s got much bigger things going on than Bristol Rovers sadly

So despite Holloway failing the last time he was here, he heads the poll. We really do deserve to suffer don't we. what's your issue with Ian as a manager? Do you not believe he's a much better manager nowadays? To me it's the perfect fit at the perfect time. Just need FM to get the get go and dream time!!!

Just a weird thought ... but Stuart Sinclair as player manager? Ok, maybe one too many beers.

There are loads of examples of successful managers returning to a club and it all ending in tears. In reality, there are few examples of second-time managers enjoying happy tenures. I can think of unsuccessful second-time managers at Rovers. Holloway may be the exception to this general rule. I don't know. However, he would certainly liven up the place! I said something similar a couple of years ago when pointing out how John Ward v2.0 failed. Then followed by posters pointing out loads of examples of managers who had made successful returns, all of which I'd forgotten about. It can work.

When it all came to an end last time, I felt Ollie had managed us to early in his managerial career, I felt he need to go on and cut his teeth elsewhere then return for another go with a load of experience behind him. The time is right.

Ideally I'd go with Mansell until the end of the season; we already have a solid first team, we only need someone who can keep their spirits up + bolster chemistry. Mansell comes to mind immediately, due to all he's done for us off-pitch (as well as helping turn Harrison's career and attitude around).
However, my idea also means that he'd have to roll back into a #2 role next season, with a better suited name being appointed. It's a bit unrealistic, so... Holloway, I guess, even though he's gone on record against the current board.

My top 2 choices are not on the list so I voted for Pulis. Who are they then?? Of course it would be cheap to hire someone who is already available than having to pay compensation to a club. And even cheaper to hire within, like Dunne, Mansell and Hargreaves. But I feel the best manager for us is Paul Hurst. He knows how to work on a very tight budget with Grimsby and Shrewsbury and did very well with them both. Ipswich was a poison chalice for him. Anyone would have struggled with them last season. But not only can he work on a tight budget, he knows how to get players to perform and fight for their shirt. He some how got Stefan Payne to be Shrewsbury's top scorer in that season where Shrewsbury were top 3 all season. I've had my eye on him since the conference, believing he would be a great manager for us. Unfortunately for me, I doubt we will pay compo to Scunthorpe to get him here. The other option I like I doubt would come. John Coleman of Accrington. He's been there for ages and I doubt he will ever leave unless he gets pushed, which I doubt will happen. But he has done wonders there with a tighter than tight budget. Imagine what he could do with our club. Both Paul Hurst and John Coleman would be excellent for us with our budget and they will make every player fight for everything, just what we all like. These are my choices but I know they won't happen.

He knows the players and the system, will continue the continuity and will be very cheap. I'd have thought he's a shoo-in. A good result tomorrow night and MS will doubtless start talking him up.

If not Holloway, I’d go for Tom Gorringe. He’s done nothing wrong since he’s been with us.

I’d go for someone like Warnock. We’ve got the right players for his style currently. Out of reach but would tick all the boxes for me.
