I'll throw another name into the ring I haven't seen mentioned yet... Kenny Jackett. Portsmouth fans haven't been happy with him all season and could be nearing the sack.
His CV is very strong for a club and job our size.

You were supporting him last time pirate. Yet no one has come in for him, still worth taking a chance you think? UTG!

Of course it would be cheap to hire someone who is already available than having to pay compensation to a club. And even cheaper to hire within, like Dunne, Mansell and Hargreaves. But I feel the best manager for us is Paul Hurst. He knows how to work on a very tight budget with Grimsby and Shrewsbury and did very well with them both. Ipswich was a poison chalice for him. Anyone would have struggled with them last season. But not only can he work on a tight budget, he knows how to get players to perform and fight for their shirt. He some how got Stefan Payne to be Shrewsbury's top scorer in that season where Shrewsbury were top 3 all season. I've had my eye on him since the conference, believing he would be a great manager for us. Unfortunately for me, I doubt we will pay compo to Scunthorpe to get him here. The other option I like I doubt would come. John Coleman of Accrington. He's been there for ages and I doubt he will ever leave unless he gets pushed, which I doubt will happen. But he has done wonders there with a tighter than tight budget. Imagine what he could do with our club. Both Paul Hurst and John Coleman would be excellent for us with our budget and they will make every player fight for everything, just what we all like. These are my choices but I know they won't happen. Paul Hurst isn’t a bad shout but if GC got stick for taking us to 4th in League 1 then PH would get even more. Wasn’t popular at Grimsby despite doing a good job, did well at Shrewsbury but failed at Ipswich and is only now picking up at Scunthorpe. Don’t know if he’d come this far south. But as you say probably won’t happen. UTG!

If it's true that they want an experienced L1 man it seems a bit odd in terms of tying in selling 3 players asap and slashing costs.

Ian Holloway, blimey...you lot really are suckers for punishment. That would be another nail in the promotion bid coffin I'd actually take entertainment over promotion - we aren't ready! We won't be ready for 5 plus years and that's if we put in a planning application for a ground tomorrow! Would you rather we just accepted that mid table League 1 is where we want to be? Promotion could actually force the owners hands in one way or another.

Ian Holloway for me;although, Waq will probably try and make a change on the cheap and give the job to Hargreaves. Whatever, the whole club seems to be in a complete mess at the moment, getting ready for the departure of JCH.

Love to see Ollie back.
Reckon he’s got something to prove after his last couple of jobs. You don’t become a bad manager overnight though. Plus he’s been out of a job for a while so will be fired up.
Can’t see it though, pretty sure he made some comments in the press about the board needing to front up some cash for DC.
Probably didn’t go down well and would be remembered. Might convince JCH to stay- at least until summer.

Ollie hasn't done anything decent in management in a long time. Yes his return will certainly put a few more on the gate and improve the atmosphere. I don't think it would work long term though as he has made comments about the owners in the past.
Not interested in Tisdale either. League two appears to be his level and even then he failed to get out of that league.
People complain when we go for the cheap option and employ within but recently it has worked so at least temporarily we will have someone already at the club taking over. So lets see how they get on over the busy festive period, and if they do well, is there any need to go looking eles where? GC, DC and Trollope were all appointed from within.

Would be interesting to see Ollie back, and pick up on our present form followed by automatic promotion
and then I woke up.

Tisdale went to MK Dons in the summer of 2018 and got them promoted to league one in his first season. Got sacked after an indifferent start to this season just after we beat them.

Seriously concerning that so many fans are stuck in the past over Holloway. Shocking manager these days

Just a weird thought ... but Stuart Sinclair as player manager? Ok, maybe one too many beers. Not as a player and not as a manager. And definitely not as a player-manager. Several beers too many!

Wasn't Lee Mansell telling us all a few months ago that he had suffered mental health issues, very honest but surely management wouldn't be advisable suffering from that condition.
