Very disappointing to be on the Sunday again, that's three home draws and three games that me and the kids have missed (season ticket holders), I love the FA Cup, my kids have had very little chance to experience it given our recent record. The BBC coverage of these games is rubbish. BBC coverage of most things is garbage unless it specifically includes / covers BBC personalities. Programmes like Red Nose generally only promote BBC people At premium sports tournaments like World Cup or Olympics every Tom Dick and Harriet in the BBC will somehow turn up? Their snooker coverage is garbage compared to Eurosport? UTG

I actually think the BBC's live ground shifting coverage is not such a bad idea.... The chance of getting TV money for a fully covered match is still there, but if not clubs have a chance of sharing some cash in a way that isn't likely to turn supporters away from going to the game.... Unfortunately Sunday kick offs definitely turn people away. We just aren't used to Sunday games in the lower leagues. Many people themselves play or their kids do so it's either leave their club in the lurch or not go to Rovers. Hopefully the cash we get from the TV thing covers the loss in revenue but I doubt it. As someone who starts their working week on a Monday waking at 5am and also someone who likes a few alcoholic beverages while I watch my team I can safely say I'm definitely NOT a fan of these Sunday kick offs. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the same situation.

Are any other frequenters of the West Enclosure getting sick of the terrace being closed for cup matches?
I can kind of understand the Mickey Mouse trophy, but this is the FA Cup for goodness sake and it’s the 3rd round!
For me it spoils the match day experience meeting and catching up with people, enjoying the game and banter. Instead we all get spread around the ground, some don’t bother going.
The stand behind is open so it’s stewarded and the outlets are open, so what’s the problem.
The club needs to be more respectful towards the loyal supporters, many are season ticket holders in that section.

I can't see the logic for this game in particular when surely we can expect a reasonable size crowd for R3, plus it means we have no covered terracing for families right bang in the middle of winter, so much for the Gas being a "family club"!!

Think I will spend the extra minute wondering why, yet again, parts of our ground are closed when we are in the 3rd round of the cup for the first time in a while. Is our support really that bad? Ok - Coventry are (no disrespect to them) not the draw we would have liked. But if it was a League game the whole ground would be open. Exactly. Surely it can't cost a fortune for a few extra stewards and pasty sellers. We have made s decent amount of money in the cup so far and it would appear our owners want to pocket the lot.

Already decided I won't be driving two hundred miles to possibly stand in the rain for two hours, so that's this season ticket holder in the west enclosure not giving them money for entry, 50/50 and food and drink.

So if by chance we sold all available space in the ground for the game (Unlikely), i bet they will soon open the closed areas thus watering off the people who should be there even more
Very poor form from the Stadium Manager, who ever they are these days

Although there is never the vocal support to rival the Thatchers End any support is better than none.

I wonder if Gorringe reads forums? Might change his mind given the views of the fan majority.
If I was him I’d come out and say “i’ve listened to the fans and we’ll be opening the West Terrace. If we get a poor attendance then we will revert to our partial ground closure strategy next season”. Puts the ball in the fan base court.

Well if they think we can't get enough to open West Terrace its a poor do. 3rd Round match etc. WTF!! The clubs gone crazy, I blame Mr Cockring! Why call him that? Surely they're designed to provide excitement, something you never get watching one GCs sides!

Can only suggest we all individually contact the club to make our feelings known.

Will that be moved to the 8th??

Don’t know about Mickey Mouse Trophy....we are in danger of being a Mickey Mouse Club if we have to (in the clubs eyes) close part of the ground for a 3rd Round FA Cup game.

I wonder if this might backfire for the Cov game? If we have a manager by then and fans are excited by them/their brand of football and the team is still going well, would have thought it very short sighted keeping the West terrace closed, think of the (lost) revenue folks.

For me every game after the 3rd round is big. maybe many don't agree these days ? 🤷♂️

Anyway - if you feel strongly enough about it you can always drop him an e-mail: tomgorringe@bristolrovers.co.uk

A half open ground for Holloway’s great home coming would be disappointing.
