The fact that we are even considering it a possibility, just goes to show how sh** we currently are. It's hopefully, and probably a pound down the drain but glad I put it on at 250/1 to get relegated. Yeah I put the £4 I had left in my SkyBet account on the same odds - would cheer me up if the worst happened. Quite frankly, I'm confident we won't be near it by the end of season. Short term pain for long term gain is my hope but right now it's VERY worrying signs. Wish I had your optimism. I have no faith that the club management will have the sense to pull the trigger early enough to turn it at around but will arrogantly persist giving him time.

Reminded of the Mcghee era that, absolute shambles.

f**k me, where do you want me to start? I haven’t got long I’m going out in half an hour, that’s certainly not enough time. Have a good evening 😁 No go on, you're clearly calling me a knob for my post? What was wrong with it, for you to call me that?

Guaranteed. Unless of course he himself realised that he’s out of his depth but he seems to have a high opinion of himself so I don’t expect any humility to force his hand.

So we’ve gone from 4th (and a whisper away from second) place in the league under GC to 11th place under BG - any conspiracy theorists got hold of this yet? Is this deliberate from the AQ’s cos they don’t want to lash out money if we somehow got promoted? Enquiring minds need to know . . . Far too much thought here, we’re just sh**! It was originally supposed to be tongue-in-cheek . . .

Never get the argument the board don't want to go up. If they didn't want to spend more they wouldn't have to. We would have a lot more money coming in. Plus of they are looking to sell, they would probably get more interest. Makes no sense at all.

You're probably right in all you say, but the total silence on, well, everything, from Wael and co just makes it feel like they've given up and want out, and we need to wave goodbye and start again with another lot. Who will also promise lots and deliver little.

I think it’s quite simple really. GC set the team up as a solid defensive unit who played terrible football. He built a squad to play this way and found a way to successfully grind out results. BG’s come in and tried to play good, attractive, passing football with that same squad. Chances are that’s not going to work, or the transition certainly isn’t going to happen overnight. The options going forward are: 1.) We go back to the way we were playing, make ourselves solid defensively, lump it up to JCH and see what we can do with little technical ability on the pitch, but hope to keep picking up 1-0 wins. 2.) We back BG to bring in a few players who are more technically gifted and can play the football he wants to play, as well as trying to transform some of the players we have into players that can play that style of football. I think option 1 is a short term fix which will mean we can consolidate but also probably means we’re going nowhere but League One mediocrity. I’d personally rather go with option 2, back BG and accept it’s gonna take some time in a transition phase to turn things around. But with more risk, comes more potential reward. UTG! Good post that sums it up nicely. I agree with the conclusion too.

Good post that sums it up nicely. I agree with the conclusion too. We are just so light weight and don't appear to have the strength, energy and pace of other teams. Donny were in the faces of our back 3 right from the start but we never seem able to do the same (we were too deep today and JCH doesn't bother too often), it forced us it to giving the ball away (particularly in the first half) but they always had plenty of time to pass it around

I support BG and will be patient. I do hope however that the sitting off teams that we saw today, rather than getting in their faces and pressing them, was a reflection of fatigue rather than tactics. Donny showed what we can be in time, a team able to press yet one that plays very good, entertaining football too.

Let's hope Wael gives BG a mobile phone so he can ring all these experienced managers he worked for to get some advice.
Managing is a bit different to coaching so hope he gets some help otherwise its going to be a very long struggle.

If they really wanted to go up why not appoint an experienced manager like Holloway etc, appointing a totally inexperienced manager was always going to be a gamble. Don't forget DC managed to get us relegated in his first season due to his inexperience. Garner is looking like Dodson MK2 although he managed to win his third game in charge!

No guarantee anyone would have taken us up. We've had experienced manager's who have done rubbish in the past. In fact the experienced manager's have done worse. Would you rather have McGhee, Ward during his second spell or Coughlan, Trollope etc??

Not sure it's the AQ's fault for the debacle on the pitch apart from the appointment butwere there any real objections? It sounds to me the players are not getting it, but haven't heard anything from the backroom staff since. I remember when Grayson took over without his own team and we know what happened next. Yes i clearly stated it would be a disaster as soon as it was announced that garner was appointed and some others were also unhappy. My issue with wael is that garner suits his little fantasy of top class academy, highly advanced coaching theory etc etc. Its just an illusion played out by fantasy football people. Still as soon as garner has "his own team" everything will be rosey.
