Excellent signing for us ...Nice surprise as well ! Think he could do very well for us .... nice to see the link with Chelsea is still open after the Colkett / Clarke Salter /DC disaster. Not a disaster was it? Colkett got some games and a goal or two but wasn’t the player we wanted and C-S was better and I thought he did ok. At 19 he was never going to be the finished product and it was unfair to expect him to be. At 26 Blackman will be different and should be with that experience. Perhaps it could have gone better but a disaster it wasn’t. UTG!

Does this suggest someone is on the way out? MS was saying the other day there would be no more incomings unless there were outgoings? Unless he’s free? We were told 3 were going before anyone would come in. Cant believe one of the ITKers were misinformed. Forgetting the who is right and who is wrong for a minute, I find it refreshing that for a change we are signing players FIRST and then letting players go instead of letting players go and then struggling all the way up to the last final minutes to sign players.

COme across something on Sheff Utd forum I think it was, saying he is on over £20k a week at Chelsea. Oh FFS, dont tell me we've given up th office in London to finance this! Swap for a shiny Diego Costa player card.

Welcome Jamal! Although i cannot find a link between you and Coventry, believe me, i will find one. His middle name is Clint-Ross, so he qualifies under the double barrel name rule

Sounds good on paper and in all honesty we needed a keeper to give JVS some competition after the previous few weeks. Welcome to the gas Jamal.

We can and probably will see a fair few departures between now and when the window shuts.

Signed in the past by two of football's hipster managers in Marcelo Bielsa and Chris Wilder.
Although can I take this opportunity to say we used overlapping centre backs at times during the infamous 1999/2000 season.

Gary Kenneth was an overlapping centre back - if overlapping your own shorts counts!

He bought him down here for a pay day.

Even worse was a player called Riordon.Never moved and wouldn't have made Totterdown Athletic's Reserves.

Jamal Blackman is a really good signing and just what we needed.
Pleased that this was being considered early in January and good work has been done in securing the loan.

Clarke-Salter got bullied way too easily. And I've always found it weird how highly though of he has supposed to be but when I have watched him, have always thought he's looked poor.

That’s true, perhaps disappointing but to call them a disaster is a bit harsh imo. If as a club we expect a couple of 19year olds to be the answer on their first trip into man’s football after only playing youth football then I think that would be the fault of the club not the players. I saw JCS make a howler home against Fleetwood and give a goal away, coincidentally, but he recovered and had a very good rest of match which we won 2-1. Colkett seems to have gone to Finland and failed on a few loans after us. UTG!

Good signing. With Jaakola out far better than the Dutchman.
Was Wycombes Young Player of the season when on loan with them a few years ago.
Also played 31 times for Sheffield United in The Championship.
Hasn't played any games for nearly 2 years though and has only played 80 odd games at the age of 26.
That's the only worry, but if he's fit then its definitely a good signing for this level.
