The phrasing was actually "key" players. You lap up negative gossip and then when it proves to be rubbish you try to find a reason why it was sort of, kinda, a bit true if you squint ... maybe. Love you to find any posts of mine where I thought anybody but JCH would leave, there's your challenge for the rest of the transfer window evening. Are you simple or do you not read the stuff you post as well as not properly reading the stuff you reply to? You've clearly repeated and reinforced the negative bullshit about GC leaving because he wouldn't be supported in the transfer window and having to trim the budget. You even made this quote up remember: "The Dubliner implied during his remarkable post-match press conference at Portman Road that a lack of financial resources and a feeling he has taken the club as far as he can go have made him question is future." "Coughlan met with club president Wael Al-Qadi in Bristol earlier this month, a day after the penalty shootout win over Leyton Orient in the EFL Trophy, where the January transfer window was a main topic of conversation." So I guess in your view it was just pure chance Mansfield offered GC a job and it was nothing to do with him apparently being unhappy after what ever was discussed in that meeting about this month's transfer window, after which it seems he questioned his future? As for you now pretending you never said anyone else would leave: We clearly need two strikers assuming Nichols will leave .

Does it really matter why GC left? He stated family reasons and why not accept that. Anyway, it's all history and leave him to work his magic at the mighty Mansfield. These new signings look exciting. Not the usual January window acquisitions attempting to steady the ship. More emphasis on the future and a commitment to a particular style of play with fast ball playing players. GC left because there was no room for new signings in the Jan window BG has only blown the bloody doors off the safe! 😂😂😂

I wonder how long it takes to conclude a transfer? Surely by now JCH would have had to have had some concrete interest that the local media would have heard about? You surely you can’t just get on the blower at 22:15 and conclude a transfer by 11 even allowing for all that deal sheet nonsense? Think back when JCH joined us. Nothing in the Media and a late night signing. Good point that, so we won’t really know until midnight...possibly tomorrow morning!

GC left for a reason and I'm confident it wasn't down to a career choice or a family reason. I think the fans decision to dislike the style of play and loss of attendance had a hand in him being ousted? BG has been on the radar for a while and with him looking to sign young inexperienced players on low wages had a big bearing in wael replacing him once he heard of GC being poached by Mansfield

I'm sure GC threw his toys at wael and said give me a budget or I'm off and wael replied no this is it take it or leave it. The rest is now todays news so we move on with BGs vision

Remember, Rovers had knocked Mansfield back and it seems it was GC that forced the Rovers owners hand with his interview. Nothing to do with Rovers or their fans, all to do with what suited GC.

What's your explanation of the timeline then? You think GC was making comments like that on the radio without the security of a job to go to?

According to their local reporter, Charlton are signing David Davis from Birmingham and that’s their business done for the day.

No he knew he had a move on with Mansfield in the wings but I also think he was trying to haggle with us and wael wasn't having it

I thought we would sell for a cut price as soon as possible and we had to get rid of 4 of our best players?

It's obvious Nichols was leaving when BG told to find a new club, if that's your evening effort then I hope you enjoyed trolling though my posts to come up with that gem!
