Thought this deserved its own thread. “Charlton Athletic have made the first move for Jonson Clarke-Harris, submitting a bid for the Bristol Rovers striker. The Addicks' interest in Clarke-Harris became clear 10 days ago, when news broke they were interested in both the striker and Rovers captain Ollie Clarke. Charlton have now strengthened their interest in the 25-year-old striker, submitting a bid that Bristol Live understands to be around £1m plus add-ons. It is an offer that Rovers will most likely reject, but it is the first concrete move for a player whose future has been speculated over for a number of months thanks to his sensational form - and could well fire a starting gun for other clubs to make firm their interest in the final days of the transfer window. The Gas are understood to have also requested players on loan from the Addicks in exchange for Clarke-Harris. Or maybe the ALQ's are really looking to sell the club, hence, they just want to bank the JCH money so they can keep it all to themselves? As far as fans saying snap Charlton's hands off, who do they expect to score our goals if JCH does leave? |
