Cov local press say yes there is, Bristol Post say no there isn't. Sounds like a pantomime.

Rovers stated sometime ago there was not a release clause in his Contract that Coventry would benefit from. The post did but Coventry’s local rag has said differently. Hasn’t been confirmed either way by the club.

It's a bad offer. My view is to consider whether that offer would still be on the table in the next window.
I think it would.
As such, unless player power demands you dont weaken yourself for something you could get in June.
2m.

We could always sign our own players so we aren’t reliant on a loan from the club that is trying to sign our best player...if Charlton have got anyone worth a toss in their squad they probably won’t want to send them to us given our current form- we’ll get their equivalent of Victor Adeboyejo. who knows, perhaps it would be a loan with a view to a permanent deal in the summer
I have no idea, but I'd rather not be miserable about it and decide it's all going to be sh** before a deal is even agreed
Who cares if it is? The point I’m making is by trying to take loans off Charlton we’re limiting our options - if they were to offer us McAuley Bonne then great, but they won’t, we’ll get offered Wilberforce Orcan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Bristol Rovers. Getting our pants pulled down again.
In today's crazy transfer fee climate and when you consider we were selling Barry Hayles, Jason Roberts and Nathan Ellington for circa £2M each 20 years ago, the very least we should get for JCH is £3M imo.
His goals ratio is 21 in 35 games, which is better than those 3 as well.

Its Ocran, Wilberforce Ocran. Just making sure no forumers get upset by mispelt names again!

If we only get 1 million, then sorry enough really is enough. An embarrassing amount...

Obviously we won’t get 11 million for JCH but if that is the touted fee Peterborough are trying to extract for Toney then we should be looking for 2 to 3 million at least especially as we are under no immediate contract pressure. Taylor and Bodin were disappointing but their contracts were outside our control if we roll over and let our tummy be tickled with JCH it will be ineptitude on a grand scale. We have inept owners, and will bank whatever little money they can get their hands on.

Just because Posh want £11m for Toney doesn’t mean they will get it. They were asking £6m for Marcus Maddison a year ago, he’s still there. He’s still on the list I think and still no one going to pay that. As you say we still control the JCH contract but whatever price we ask it needs to be realistic. UTG!

Blimey, don't ever go in to business! Of course it doesn't need to be realistic. He's our asset - we can value him at whatever we want; it's up to Charlton whether or not they agree with that valuation and want to pay it.

If we want to sell it needs to be realistic. If we dont want to sell then you might be right it doesn’t need to be realistic. And you might be right that our owners don’t want to sell him and will set the selling price at £3m+ which will guarantee he stays. I hope we do get that, I just don’t think we will. UTG!

It's a gamble either way IMO. He had a great 6 months, but he has been average before and after. He might rediscover the good form and his value might go up, but if he does not, his price will go down all the time.
Depends on who we can get to replace him. If we can bring in someone else for half the money and a few decent loan player's, then I would probally take the deal. Especially if BG is going to play a high press in the future.

Very difficult to put a price on JCH.
His goals to games ratio is excellent. He's scored all types of goals, close range, long range, headers, even bicycle kicks. His hold up play is very good and there is nobody better at winning a free kick. He's also only 25 and still improving.
On the flip side, he's had a few injuries and the goals have dried up a bit in recent months.
Personally I'd be looking for 2M+ to let him go in January or at the very least 1.5M rising to 2M after X appearances. Any less and I think we should wait until the summer.

Dan do you honestly believe even though you rose tinted specs Hani is going to give BG £500K to sign a replacement, he'll be v. lucky if he gets £250K although I'm not sure I'd give I completely untried manager that amount to spend anyway.
Charlton are probably desperate for a striker if Lyle Taylor is refusing to sign a new contract/is going to be sold this week, so surely, for a pleasant change the ball is in our court, so who else can they sign for £1m/£2m if they don't sign JCH? I assume they have a fair bit of money to spend if they've just got new owners as well?
