JCH’s goal scoring record is up there will any rovers’ striker over the last 20 years. 1m is nothing in today’s market. I’d hold out for more, but then again it’s not me trying to balance the books.

Very difficult to put a price on JCH. His goals to games ratio is excellent. He's scored all types of goals, close range, long range, headers, even bicycle kicks. His hold up play is very good and there is nobody better at winning a free kick. He's also only 25 and still improving. On the flip side, he's had a few injuries and the goals have dried up a bit in recent months. Personally I'd be looking for 2M+ to let him go in January or at the very least 1.5M rising to 2M after X appearances. Any less and I think we should wait until the summer. £1.5m upfront and £500K if he Charlton stay up seems a reasonable deal?

Reading through this thread you would have thought he'd been sold today. I know the default position for this forum is mostly complete negativity but some of the stuff is over the top even for here. Maybe wait until he's sold & then if he is for confirmation of the fee & replacement(s) before the melt down - just a thought ?

With a sell on clause inserted and a payment of he plays a certain number of games. Hopefully if other teams are interested, they will get in a bidding war and someone can offer us a permanent signing we want, as well as a loan or two.

Do the snap your hand off people realise if JCH goes we have two days to get someone else who can score all our goals or we will have Gavin Reilly and Tom Nichols for the rest of the season where we are in a relegation battle 🤪🤪🤪

Given we have probably a 100% record of selling players when the big boys come for them why would any Gashead genuinely think he'll still be here on the 1 Feb? If we had a chance of a top 6 finish perhaps JCH himself might want to stay but the way we're plunging down the table and he's being asked to play upfront on his own then he really would be mad to stay as he might never get this chance again.

Have to agree with you but then I can't recall one of our players recently attracting so much interest.
Makes you wonder if we shouldnt give him a better contract until the summer and then go to the highest bidder?

It doesn't really matter what he ultimately gets sold for now - the deal will be undisclosed and we have a Gaschat fact backed by the Evening Post as source material. Even a bank statement showing the figure was £7m won't be enough to kill this one.
JCH was sold for a million. There. Whenever it happens that's the price.

I don't think he will be here come the end of the window but I'll wait & see before I criticise the club regarding the fee or any replacement. If he goes for 1 million & we sign a youth striker on loan that's a completely different scenario to say 2 million + Oztumer. Id agree in recent seasons we've been completely crap at managing this sort of situation let's hope we've learnt !!!

Being realistic, maybe last summer JCH was worth 2 or even 3 million but anyone who has watched his performances this season ain’t going to pay that. Moody, arrogant, always injured, billy big balls, looks disinterested most of time.

Bristol Rovers. Getting our pants pulled down again. In today's crazy transfer fee climate and when you consider we were selling Barry Hayles, Jason Roberts and Nathan Ellington for circa £2M each 20 years ago, the very least we should get for JCH is £3M imo. His goals ratio is 21 in 35 games, which is better than those 3 as well. 20 years ago! Feck me where’s that gone to eh?
