I honestly don't think it matters what team BG puts out. He doesn't know how to inspire our team. I feel sorry for him, it is so clear how out of his depth he is. Seems a decent bloke who has had a lot going on in his life in a short time. I hope he manages to forge out a career for himself after leaving us.

Abraham looked awful in his cameo on Saturday. I think he would struggle to get a start if he was loaned to a Western League side. I agree with the formation change and long overdue reinstatement if THD to the side. I think Hare will be starting very soon too. You may be right about Timmy, but in fairness he’s a young lad who was feeding off scraps and coming into a game where the whole team had played woefully for 60+ minutes. Very difficult for the lad to make an impact in an appearance like that. Maybe but you could say similar about other players tat have come in recently. All of the others have at least shown something. Even Daly. The other way of looking at it, is the pressure is off players coming into the team. As we have been performing so poorly that they can't do any worse, so have nothing to lose.

Barrett looks overweight and unfit - we’d get torn to shreds playing 442 with him and Upson in the middle. I’d just go back to 352 until the end of the season. It’s a system this squad knows well, can play in effectively (or could, under Coughlan...), and suits the defenders we have better IMO. ___________Blackman _____Rollin___Craig__Kilgour Rodman__Clarke___Upson__THD ___________Sercombe ________Abraham__Daly You would drop JCH? Big call considering he is the only striker currently able to put the ball in the back of the net. Okay he hasn’t been great recently but I don’t think he was actually that bad on Saturday, made a few promising runs but it just didn’t come off for him. Other than that I like the team, would be a brave choice by Garner to admit he’s wrong and go back to Coughlan’s formation though.

Yeah, any team that GC put out would tank any team that BG could, atm. The team sheet is probably c. 2% of management, but it's the only thing supporters can really engage with on the same terms.

Strikes me as odd that Garner talks about the future and he's building a team for next season.
I'll give him a hand. Ben, you know that next season the budget is going to be slashed to well below £2m. On that basis you will have a team full of kids next year. As we are safe this season, put the lot in now and get them used to playing together. It doesn't matter in terms of results now, it really can't get any worse. There's a couple of kids in our development squad worth a try, so drop Ollie, Upson and the rest that you know have no future here, and replace them with youngsters that may well be our future.
Mind you, I really don't see a future for you yourself Ben, but you also know that it was Wael who appointed you so your position is safe. Of course, you could always resign.

Slashed to well below £2 million? That would make us have the smallest budget in L1 and would be lower than even the amount we spent on wages in the conference. How do you even make some of this tripe up?

I know he came off with a bit of a knock but didn’t look to me as though it was that serious.

Any substitution where a player came off in agony looks serious and I am sure if he could have stayed on he would have. Hope I'm wrong but I would say 3 weeks out.

To be honest I don't think Clarke-Harris has linked up properly with anyone since coming here. His worldies last season were mainly after going looking for the ball himself and putting defences on the back foot. The so-called partnership with Nichols was a few neat passes on the break, nothing that was sustained in any way. The only partnership that looked promising was with Hare, who plonked a few crosses on a plate for him to nod home at the far post. Then Hare gets injured and that put paid to that outlet. He cuts a frustrated figure at the moment. Last week he played target man flicking headers to no-one in particular. A complete waste of his talent. He needs someone up front with him, Daly looks a likely candidate for that role but we've not seen enough of him yet. #stodgyfootballisthepits#

Leahy isn't good enough and opponents seem to have sussed him and take full advantage and yet he gets picked constantly.Weird.Ollie should be dropped for Ogogo and that lack of creativity in midfield is a major factor in our demise. Was expecting some sort of statement this morning.Training must be a bit depressing with our continual defeats and inability to even score.Dreading Southend.

I thought we were playing the non-performers though? But saying that, I had completely forgot about Abraham, so I'd put him there instead. Abraham has looked out of his depth in his brief appearances so far and his record at U23 level (where he is a sub more often than not) doesn't suggest he is the answer. Reminded me of when Southampton gave George weahs brother a game, great name way short of quality at the moment.

I would revert to a back 5, which gives Leahy more protection/help until THD is fit. Clarke has a role to play whilst Ogogo is suspended - 2 more games and then the risk of two more if he gets another yellow as soon as he returns from this suspension. We must also play two up front.
Blackman Menayese/Harries Craig Kilgour
Rodman Clarke/Ogogo Sercombe Upson Leahy/THD
JCH Daly

I'd definitely look to go back to a 3 especially if Hare is fit but would only play 1 of Clarke & Upson, 3412 for me Blackman Kilgour Craig Harries Hare Sercombe Upson THD Barratt/Matthews Daly JCH (or Reilly if he's not fit)

Fair enough not judging someone on small amount of time on the pitch but playing third tier football looks to have been too much too soon for someone who I read was even struggling to get U23 games at his parent club. Not his fault.

Bennet is a non performer. On the bench, still picking up his huge weekly salary. Great.
