Surely it was BG's choice to sign 7 "cheap" players than 3 or 4 reasonably priced players? I sensed even before CV19 it would have been more of the same this summer post CV19 that's now virtually guaranteed, so unless the likes of OC & Sercs take big pay cuts in order to stay they'll just be replace with more ex Academy players. Don't think we are paying towards the loan player's wages and the others will be on peanut's as they were young player's who have not played. We wouldn't have got 3 or 4 league 1 player's for that. It's not a comparison, the budget was used up. We moved a few on, but only part of thier wages were being paid. I've no idea what goes on with loan players but if we get them all for free then why don't we take our full allocation of loans players every season? Do you think we're paying all of Nichols wages at Cheltenham or Preston would let Ginnelly join us w/o us paying something towards his wages? As far as the permanent signings we paid a fee for Barrett plus Harris left Swansea and Daly left Palace and I doubt they took a pay cut when they joined us they are probably all on reasonable L1 contracts.

I look forward to the excuses after this is all over "I know he's won none of the first five games back, but it's hard getting your style of play over during a pandemic", "Yeah, he's won no games this season but the new players need to bond", "I'd give him to the January window to allow him to make the team his own", "Ok, we've not won in 26 games but the January window is incredibly hard to sign the right players". Quite what has won this loyalty I do not know. Our fans were on GCs back constantly yet a bloke who can’t buy a win gets the sort of loyalty DC received. I'm not being loyal to him. I said he's been rubbish and might be rubbish next season. I won't judge him until next season though. When it's his squad and they are playing the way he wants. If we are still rubbish then, he will have to go. . I'm not one of the ones saying we were ok against Sunderland etc, as player's can raise their games, for one game. I can see the long term plan though. Hopefully it will work next season, but it is a risk.

They are all young player's, so won't be on much. We will be playing a lot of Nichols wages. It depends on what you agree with the club. If they want the player to get experience, a lot of the time you player little towards thier wages. We paid a few for Barrett, he's a gamble for the future. Daly was injured, but looked good when he came back. Harris was brought in for next season. So hardly his squad. We don't have the midfield to play his style properly. Couldn't replace them as we have 3 on a decent league 1 wage already.
