Tom Nichols has to be the biggest flop this club has ever seen. Massive fee and what do we get? "Our most naturally gifted player". Kyle Bennet and Stephen Payne were worse. Only just, but at least Nichols tried.

Puffer Evans for me. He always looked a great player before he joined Rovers, but just used Rovers to move closer to Plymouth. My understanding is that he was a big money signing, which cost even more when other factors were taken into consideration, like house buying, house moving, car etc.

What season was is that we seemed to make a signing every day for a while. Was it 2010/11 when we go relegated to L2 and we just seemed to keep throwing short term contract signings at a poor squad? Most of them were fairly dire... People like Jerel Ifil.

Liam Lawrence.
Not exactly exciting, but should've done better.
Jamie Shore was a disappointment, albeit no fault of his own.
The biggest ones for me were Ray Graydon and Mark McGhee in management roles. Utter failures..

The lad is without doubt the most skilful player to ever pull on the famous blue and white quarters. Every second he played was a joy to watch. He was a crippled genius, and we should all be thankful for the small amount of games that he played for us.

Only just, but at least Nichols tried. No, sorry. Neither of those two was given a third of the opportunity Nichols got nor 1% of the slack Nichols was given by fans. Neither of them cost as much as Tom either. The stuff put on Stefan Payne I don't agree with. I've never agreed with the "He's not trying, he doesn't jump high enough for flick ons" stuff when said about any player. That's just a personality that the terraces choose to imagine about that person and ascribe to them without any evidence. It got said about John Joe O'Toole. It got said about Will Hoskins after he came back from injury because people wanted to imagine he wanted us relegated so he could end his contract. It even got said about Lambert early on.

Maybe someone can help me out with this one. In the late 90s under Holloway, we signed a international striker, but can't remember his name or country, I think it was one of the islands between North and South America.
He scored in pretty much every friendly I remember him being in, but never made it to the first team because he didn't have enough international caps, so had to be released.
Any ideas?
