Spiess1-you know why? Because the good times are easy to remember where as the bad old days merge into a congealed blob. I challenge you to remember the difference between the reigns of GF (2), graydon and particularly the mcghee, buckle, atkins, North eras... The brain deals with extreme trauma by attempting to forget it.. 😂... Troll!! 😉

Anyway... "shockingly inaccurate" to say that cureton, Roberts and zamora all left in the same summer?? Only received a decent free for Roberts out of those three? Admittedly Ellington lasted a season or so longer but I think "shockingly innacurate" is a bit strong. OK my memory my have failed me re what we brought in (it was Weare, Bubb, Ellis, Cameron, gall and Evans) so hardly an improvement on those that I did list.. At least I'm old enough to remember that time, not just the last 6 or 7 years!!! 😂😂

Derek Riordan and Gary Kenneth. Two signings that I was overwhelmingly excited by. Did not work out at all.

Anyone remember wardy signing an 18 year old striker called Mike Davis from yate Town I think? He made his debut a week later at the last game at Millwall's old ground in our last ever match at championship level in 93 and scored. I remember thinking "here's the next Marcus Stewart" but apart from a handful of sub appearances, I don't think he played again and was let go about 2 years later. Yes, I was there and same as you in thought!

I remember dc brought white in at the same time as taylor (from Salisbury obviously) and had the better pedigree. It was mystifying why he continually picked taylor ahead of him in that conference season when taylor was awful that season. The other one you've mentioned, akinde, was a non league player who just wasn't cut out for league football a la Nathan blissett. Justin Richards was the same. In fact it was as if we were cursed with bad strikers after the club cleared out cureton, Roberts, Ellington and zamora in one fell swoop. We also had at that time, Lee Matthews, jefferson Louis, guy ipoua, mickey Evans. I massively disagree that Taylor was awful. You could immediately see that he had the quality to play above that level, he just missed a lot of good chances. He was still one of the top scorers that season too.

I always thought Kaid Mohamed looked pretty decent against us so I was quite excited to get him in on loan. Sadly from what I remember he was dreadful!
The list of clubs on his Wikipedia page is staggering! Have there been any other players that have been with more clubs?

Why does everyone hate on kaid Mohammed he really wasn’t that bad compared to the rest of that relegation team he actually scored a couple of goals?

Your right he we wasn't bad compared to many of the players he had around him that season. I'm comparing him with the performances he gave against us before we got him in.

There's one with more than those striplings, though. And he is...…….well?

The snake done the dirty on us but credit to him he helped get us up that conference season and while he missed lots of chances he scored 20 plus.I saw from day one the he had championship level talent by his movement and touch. Also Guy Ipoua was an underrated player for us for a year or so.Scored a few goals after Roberts and Cureton left from what I remember.
