Are they just moving the soil around? It'll take some work to have any pitches ready for pre-season? Could you tell us when pre-season is please? Starnes said last week hopefully by the end of July

It's pre-season now - and may be for some time............. Probably no longer than usual, football has got to get underway in Sept in order to finish the season before the Euros start. Although the club announcement did say the ground would be ready for the start of the season, not start of pre-season.

But where are the 100 contractors, or maybe you took the photos during tea break ? Apparently all work has been stopped, after contractors unearthed a suitcase containing the body of a man wearing a full City kit. The Police said it was a tragedy, the suitcase was practically brand new.

Lots of important announcements regarding the Colony from Wael's letter that might get overlooked with all the other things announced, some things we kinda knew already, some we didn't.
- Club is to rename the Colony once work is completed. Just a name that was inherited. - Significant investment into the club in order to be a "hub" for the club and help it flourish long term. - Permanent buildings and not rented temporary ones. - Development to include two world class pitches and a goalkeeping area.
Exciting times. UTG.

This is such good positive news. It's something fans have wanted since the demise of hambrook many years ago. In keeping with rovers tradition ( eastville, hambrook) its next to a motorway !
I'm guessing the old barns might be where the academy end up. On site but separate to the first team (in Ben's words ) It only takes a preseason to relay the mem pitch so expect a similar turn around. Modular buildings could see everything in place for the start of the season or at worst before christmas. A proper Bristol Rovers training ground will be such a massive boost to the fans morale (especially the older ones who have seen so much decline and make do over the years )

We've plenty of space for a purpose built Academy area, subject to pp.

Wow, 3 pitches, 2 of Mem quality, a clubhouse etc, all due to be ready for the start of next season. I'll wake up from this dream soon only to find we've just been evicted from Cribbs!

I'm sure the club have already decided where it (academy) will be.

Not sure many players would want to live in the middle of nowhere, unless we resigned Scott Sinclair. Live groundsman/security would make more sense

That building went up quick or is it an existing structure?

looks like they've used the original girders structure from an older building, using this they can rebuild the structure to there new specifications quicker

So the gym etc will be roughly parallel to the new pitches. The clubhouse will be pretty much in the centre of the site with the car park. Scaling from Google the gym building appears to be around 36m x 8m, which is a fair size.
