Topper, look at the logic. We were losing millions a year before CV royally shafted business and incomes, we are in self preservation mode. Also, building materials at the moment have shot up because of a shortage, as well as at the time, not knowing how long lockdown was going to last to actually get anything underway. Then there is the constant accusation that Wael is a popularity and attention seeker from the the same individual(s). Do you not think that he and the club would grab the opportunity to announce this for an afternoon in the sun? If anything, the club are dying to give us some good news and are pretty hot on announcements with video launches etc. Tom G would be all over this. But no, let’s give it to the usual mob to leak on a forum. GIs claim makes no logical sense for it to even be half true. I don't believe Cummings went for a drive just to check his eyesight but I don't have any evidence to actually call him a liar. It seems a strange move just dumping soil at The Colony as I assume S Glos will now be asking questions. Why, it’s their land? It’s soil not contaminated waste.

You have a window of 2 weeks to strip and relay a pitch so why wouldn’t they dump a bit of grass and soil at another part of land they own? It’s hardly nuclear waste

A landfill site is a waste disposal centre isn’t it? Tops this is purely a money saving exercise, it would cost a fair bit to dump that amount of spoil. Charged by the tonne.

There seems to be no end of subjects which you assume something about. You should do a slot on Radio Bristol. Not a whole show just a few minutes. It'd be called "Topper Reckons" and you say a few words on a subject of which you know nothing but that you think something about. You've already written tons of material on here. Contract law, taxation, economics, planning applications, agriculture and landscaping. "I'm not a rocket scientist but I assume the fire that comes out of the end makes everything very hot and because heat rises, like a hot air balloon, that's what makes them float all the way up to the moon". Tomorrow on Topper Reckons - tsunamis. Here's Toby with the travel.

You are twisting what I am saying. We would likely have a contractor take it away, but where are they going to put it? McCarthy Marland couldn’t come and dispose of my waste at the workshops for 5 weeks as they were only collecting essential waste, like hospitals etc. I imagine there was a strict policy for similar contractors and soil isn’t top of the list.

Has the big takeover happened yet? Are we at the colony? I'm confused?

But in answer to your question - isn't the point that some things aren't a matter of opinion? They're fact or not fact. In which case assumptions aren't a substitute for knowledge.

I can confirm that it is indeed the start of putting some form of training ground together. I'm told they will look to develop the two pitches that were there already, as they are in a much better state than the rest of the ground. Indeed, a few days ago I was told that Ben Garner and a small entourage all made there way there to look around. It's long overdue, but it must be said that it is a welcome development. Furthermore, it should help with further recruitment if they can make it into a decent training setup. More horseshit then? You could pull together a catalogue of this stuff now.

Watching BBC today broadcast from Rotherham's ground I wonder how dumps like Rotherham and Doncaster can have such modern stadiums.Would so love to hear news of something infrastructure wise moving forward after decades of neglect and tents. I would suspect being dumps is exactly the reason they have managed to move into modern stadiums. Land prices are much cheaper in that neck of the woods and disused brownfield development sites more common. At the moment Rovers are finding it hard to source a new stadium site in Bristol, let alone come up with the money to buy it. And imagine being able to name it after New York thanks to their iconic water hydrants having once been made on the site. What have we got other than mental health issues?

Ooooh I don’t know... how about hundreds of people that gave their lives in the war so that we could enjoy freedom. Maybe we could make it a Memorial?

Rovers have owned The Mem for 22 years, in that period board, after board, after board have sat on their hands and let plenty of options slip away. Make no bones about it, we've been let down by multiple boards and will continue to be. We're now at a stage where clubs that have redeveloped since the first modern move (Scunthorpe United in 1988) are looking to move again. It's utterly pathetic and almost impressive.

What's the betting some SAGE or WHO member suggests standing in the open is the way forward for sports stadia? Standing 2m's apart in our away end could possibly be the safest place in football once fans eventually return, we could bring an whole new meaning to "safe standing".
