You tell me as you seem to know, it's simple he sh** on us so i would not attend while he played. I just can't understand your logic to forgive and forget what he has done (some of us dont speak to family because they are teds Did you stop watching when Steve Phillips was playing for us?

A goal every other game for us - that's up with the best we've seen. (For comparison, Taylor 61 in 118 games, Harrison 44 in 185, Nichols 4 in 93). Still got a couple of years in him. Got us out of the Conference. Moved to further his career - as he thought. It hasn't turned out that way - but most of us would take the opportunity to perform at a higher level given the chance. Great opportunity to partner with JCH. When can he start?

I voted no but Wreckless does make a tantalising argument!

Taylor was a decent guy until he was approached by Little low life Lee (LLL). The demon LLL got into Taylors head and turned him, he then signed a piece of paper and went from being a good guy to a lowlife snake.Taylor has now lost the respect of our fans and if he didn't get off the mark with goals quickly the supporters would soon turn on him. The man has now been tainted by the red demons. The moral of all this is if you see LLL in the street do your social distancing as he could get into your head, avoid the evil.

I voted no but Wreckless does make a tantalising argument! If football was consumed as just a business and nothing else, I'm inclined to agree with you. But football is more than just a sport for many. And part of the more is identity, passion, emotion etc and everything that Wreckless writes might be true....but (for me) it goes against everything I hold is true. Begone and never come back..

Matty is a tremendous player an was nothing short of instrumental for us in a hugely important chapter, he would score goals an put in great performances again i'm sure an i still love th guy for those goals an promotions.
However....
In ma opinion he would divide th fans an it wouldnt be nice and would end up bein more destructive than constructive. An lets be honest there is enough divisions in this world at th moment..th world more than ever needs unity.
Stay safe.

pointless thread this as we simply cannot afford his wages and I doubt he would want to come back anyway

I always find that to be quite the myth myself, there were 10 league games and 30 points up for grabs after that saved penalty.

Slightly different just playing for City than doing what MT did, trying to make a comparison is just bonkers. Although I can never understand the annual summer fascination of posters wanting us to try and re-sign ex players, as if they are the only ones we can sign.

It's a job for the players. Hes isnt bristolian and doesnt support any team. It was a Banned word move but how many of us would stay in a job if a bigger company came offering us more wages in a more competitive and professional environment? Hes got 10 maybe 12 years to make his money, a contract like that could mean the difference between being made for life and having to get a job after football retirement. If he did a job and earned his wages I think the crowd would soon turn. Say his goals sent us up, or won us a cup, would the haters still moan?

Whatever he’s done I support the gas and always will, whoever plays for us whoever manages us whoever owns us. My logic i am a Gashead whatever forever. sorry a happy clapper i will never be, so you get snakey back and he does the same thing a couple of years later he does it again, you'd have him back again. On the flip side, if when we were in the conference and someone said 'were gonna give you a striker, he's going to get you back into the top half of league one in two and a half seasons but he will leave to play in the champ for city, take it or leave it' i think most of us would have taken it. I hate the way he left but the only way he could make it up to us is to start banging the goals back in for us. Its not going to happen but i for one wouldnt be displeased if we did manage to capture his signing.

I’d welcome him back but I don’t think it would be the right signing for a number of reasons. He has become rather injury prone and would come in as the highest earner so I don’t think it would be the best use of our budget. The other reason is the division it would cause among the fan base - the adverse reaction from a very few would be too toxic and create an unpleasant environment.
The Matty Taylor era is now history. I hold no grudge against him for seeking to further his career and will always be grateful for the huge part he played in taking us from the lowest point in our history to our normal position back in the third tier.
