I noticed the BP has an article now showing released players. Quite a few have mentioned the big Blackpool striker (he is good) and Hiwula (don't remember him in games Ive seen), but I was wondering who you think we could snaffle from a club who might be a realistic target for us and the type of key player the team needs?
To get you started (don't know about his contract situation) I'd love to see us sign Jordan Clark of Accrington (think that's his name) - he was brilliant in the 3 -3 last season. Pretty quick midfielder, bags of energy and clever movement and gets a good handful of goals - a Sercs replacement.

Agree about JC but we'll be priced out by other clubs.. The article says he's out of contract - so no fee. If you mean priced out on wages then I doubt Hibs pay a lot but Posh might be a different story.

Bit surprised they are getting rid of him cause I thought he'd done well there. Wouldn't mind seeing him join!

He has refused to sign a new contract and has been linked with the likes of Cardiff. His wages are likely to be far beyond what we could afford.

On the league 1 page lots were saying he's lazy and only had one good season and that he won't make it at a higher level. Don't know much about him myself, just repeating what was said. Could have been sour grapes though.

Be interesting to see if he ends up in the championship. According to some outlets, Charlton were digging signing OC before, so a lot of the time the talk is just to help the player, get a better deal.

Some realistic potential striker additions that we could target are Ryan Cassidy (Watford, loan), Liam Cullen (Swansea, loan), Elliot Lee (Luton, out of contract), Dominic Samuel (Blackburn, out of contract) and Jordy Hiwula (Coventry, released).
I also like young Benji Kimpioka at Sunderland who doesn't seem to have been offered a new contract yet and wants more first team football.
Another striker I like is Sam Winnall at Sheffield Wednesday who is out of contract, but is likely to be on a fairly high wage. If he was gettable within our budget then definitely one to consider as he's a proven goalscorer at this level. His young teammate Fraser Preston is a more realistic proposition and another player out of contract this summer.

If we could only sign 1 player, I think we really, really need a big, strong, commanding experienced centre half.. Someone in the Steve Elliott mould who can captain us.. I'm not convinced with Tom Davies' fitness record tbh.. There are only 2 that spring to mind that fit this mould.. Jamie Turley at orient who is still in contract and would probably cost a 5 figure fee who we had on trial while in conference and another rovers old boy in Tom Parkes at Exeter who would cost a similar fee I reckon.

In terms of realistic wingers I really like the free agent Diallang Jaiyesimi who I would definitely attempt to sign. Another one that I like is Randell Williams at Exeter who is out of contract according to the website transfermarkt, although not sure how accurate that us.
Jordan Clark from Accrington that has been mentioned is another good one. If we could get the best out of Jordan Graham (free) then he could be decent. Others I like if possible are J'Neil Bennett (Tottenham, loan), Alex Mighten (Nottingham Forest, loan) and Joseph Hungbo (Watford, out of contract).
George Williams would also be worth inviting in for pre-season following his release by Forest Green. He's obviously been unlucky with injuries, but worth assessing in training and friendlies and then maybe discuss a suitable deal considering his recent injury record.
As for central midfielders George Moncur (Luton, loan or permanent), Callum Gribbin (Sheffield United, out of contract), Jacob Ramsey (Aston Villa, loan), Taylor Perry (Wolves, loan), Max Sanders (Brighton, loan or permanent), Matt O'Riley (Fulham, out of contract), Adam Phillips (Burnley, out of contract), George Thomas (Leicester, out of contract), Callum Camps (Rochdale, out of contract) and Ethan Chislett (Aldershot, out of contract???) are all players that could potentially do a good job for us.

Others on the wish list.. Zeki fryers, Swindon LB, jamille matt, big, experienced target man at Newport who could fill in for JCH or replace him if he gets sold.. Couple of wingers are a must and a small, quick, experienced goalscorer in the matty taylor mould... Also creative midfielder a la sercombe (his release appears a big mistake)

Wish we'd have gone for James Norwood while he was at tranmere.. He's exactly the type of matt Taylor type player we need now.. He moved to Ipswich last season and we wouldn't be able to compete with them financially.. Shame, we missed a trick there I reckon

Think you might be mixing him up with Jonny Williams who can through at Palace and is also a Welsh international. The Palace one worked with Ben Garner and is also out of contract this summer at Charlton.
