George Williams is a good shout.. Welsh international. Was lightening quick during his early career at Palace. Moncur useful also.. George Williams came through the ranks at Fulham. Think you might be mixing him up with Jonny Williams who can through at Palace and is also a Welsh international. The Palace one worked with Ben Garner and is also out of contract this summer at Charlton. Ah.. Apologies

If we could only sign 1 player, I think we really, really need a big, strong, commanding experienced centre half.. Someone in the Steve Elliott mould who can captain us.. I'm not convinced with Tom Davies' fitness record tbh.. There are only 2 that spring to mind that fit this mould.. Jamie Turley at orient who is still in contract and would probably cost a 5 figure fee who we had on trial while in conference and another rovers old boy in Tom Parkes at Exeter who would cost a similar fee I reckon. Ben Heneghan is out of contract at Sheffield United this summer. 6ft 5in. A player exactly in the mould you speak of. Edit: Not experienced, but the 6ft 3in former England youth international captain Morgan Feeney has been released by Everton and is a good player. Another young one that has impressed me over the past couple of seasons is the 6ft 4in England youth international Rhys Williams at Liverpool.

Pirate, you heard of a young CB at Southampton who is from our neck of the woods (as many saints youngsters are) called Will Tizzard? Only 17 and a man mountain for his age.. One to keep an eye on in the next 12 months if Southampton don't offer him anything this time next year?

Southampton obviously recruit a lot of youngsters from this area partly due to their satellite academy at Bath. Their former U23s captain Alfie Jones (CB/CDM) is a Bristolian.

Would be happy to see either of the williams' at rovers next season, preferably both The only problem with them both is their injury record. Jonny Williams would be a Championship regular (at the least) if it wasn't for his injury problems. Very talented player. Similar for George Williams who has Championship level ability on his day, but again, has been unlucky with serious injuries. Obviously already a full international and he was very highly-rated coming through the ranks at Fulham/MK Dons and actually made his first team debut as a 16-year-old for MK Dons (youngest ever player for the club), before scoring his first professional goal making him MK Dons youngest goalscorer.

Agree about JC but we'll be priced out by other clubs.. The article says he's out of contract - so no fee. If you mean priced out on wages then I doubt Hibs pay a lot but Posh might be a different story. Posh and Pompey (if they're not promoted) will offer more than we will. If Ipswich or Sunderland fancy taking a punt, they'll offer him more to stop anyone else acquiring his services. Then you have (probably) Barnsley, Luton, Charlton all whom are as big of not bigger fish than us... Alot of competition, as is always. He has a good agent for making the headlines. I like him, he played a good game against us. But for me, I wouldn't break the bank, and there's more important positions to fill..

Just post Coventry's released lost, that's the top of our scouting list anyway 😂, having said that I certainly wouldn't mind Hiwula coming in.

Callum Gribbin for the attacking midfielder role if released by Sheffield United.

Not saying I don't think we need this type of player, but do we think Garner will sign this type of player?? We already have 4 centre backs, if we sign another, I think we need to look at replacing Craig's experience. Think Harris was brought in to replace Craig, if he was to leave. If Davies is fully fit now, I think 4 centre backs is enough. Especially when we still have Little who can play there in an emergency, when he's not injured 😂.

Heneghan is a more dominant type to what we have already got and has good experience of the National League, Scottish Prem and League One.

But do you think Garner will go for that type?? What's his passing like 😂?? A GC type of player, but not so sure about Garner. Unless they can play out from the back, I don't think he will be interested.

I seem to remember him being mentioned last summer because of the links between GC and Wilder and that didn’t materialise. Probably is a good player but with us having the 4 CHs I think other priorities may prevail. No doubt a good player though. UTG!

Antoni Sarcevic let go by Plymouth Argyle after they failed to reach terms. Would be a good replacement for Sercombe.

I think you're probably right, but if at any point in the season we want to switch to a back 3 then we would be struggling for options if we picked up just one injury in that position. Tom Davies for example has suffered injury problems over the past season or two.

I won't be surprised if BG brings in a fair few ex prem players who are young and hungry to prove their previous employers wrong. He wants this type of player who he can improve and make a big profit on them. He has publicly admitted this. Doing this, along with getting the best out of our own youngsters as well. I think with his contacts too, we may get some gems that the likes of previous managers may have not had a chance in getting. Im expecting an exciting summer.

Use the rest of the wage budget to getting some decent width in attack and more support for JCH up top.
