Whenever I buy anything from anywhere else in the UK I am not charged VAT because it’s coming to the States. I’ve pointed this out many times to the club shop and even emailed the link on the government website alluding to this all to no avail. Like it or lump it I ‘spose. UTG!

Makes me wonder how people on eBay can turn a profit knocking stuff out for literal pence with free delivery.

Makes me wonder how people on eBay can turn a profit knocking stuff out for literal pence with free delivery. Because its incorporated in the price.. If they'd of priced the shirt at 45.00 free delivery it probably would of looked a little better?

The only time in my life I've ever paid £6 for postage was when I sent an mp3 player to my sister in Mumbai....

Regardless we're talking about a commercial decision, would cheaper p&p lead to better sales.

New masks, £6* *Plus £6 p&pPrime example! They must cost at most £2.50 for the club to buy . Stick it in a bag with a stamp on and that’s an extra £1 ( at most) Sell for £7 delivered .... profit £2.50 Currently £6 + £6 p&p ..... profit £0 because no one is daft enough to pay £12 ( apart from Henbury)

I would guess that not many of the ones complaining about the postage have ever actually ran a business. This is not a charity, it is not compulsory to buy from the club but if you do so you must pay their costs. I personally think that £6 is pretty reasonable. Yes, football shirts are very expensive and if I want one I will usually wait until the end of the season - nobody is ever going to point at me and yell that I'm not a real fan because I'm wearing last season's shirt!! All businesses are struggling at the moment but we are in the privileged position of supporting a club that is financially sound i.e. knows how to run a business....which they can't do by making a loss in the postage of shirts! Roll on the start of the season when we can get back to talking about important things ...like football! First class post for an item like that is £3.60 or so. It can surely take no more time to print a label and stick it in a bag than it would to serve someone in a shop. I simply cannot believe fans are ok with £6 p&p. No wonder we are ripped off by football left, right and centre. We are now being priced out of lower league football too. I think you are forgetting that if you buy a shirt online you qualify for a free bar of chocolate. Now someone has to go out and buy the chocolate and then wrap it up & that adds to the postage. Then you have to man/woman the phones to for those who want to know if it’s dark/milk or white chocolate or those who don’t eat chocolate and want to know if there is another free gift of the same value. I wouldn’t pay £6 postage tho, but then I wouldn’t pay £40 for a shirt.

Nothing normally as I'd buy a shirt at the first home game! Why mess about offering a free chocolate bar this weekend, why not just offer half price postage?

That's a bit difficult when it's closed although i get your point. The fact is though £6 is excessive when in fact postage is a lot cheaper and overheads a lot lower for mail order. I know because I send out over 100 items per day and nothing that I send, despite being the size of a suitcase, costs as much as £6. Only joe public pay rate card prices.

Felt a bit gutted when I ordered a Rovers snood thing for £6 and was then charged £6 for delivery. I took it as ok, but the more I think about it, seems a bit wrong. So did I and the postage was a Royal Mail large letter so not even a quid.

Is delivery managed directly by the club or by some turd party or subbie?
Similar to ticketing websites when you get hit by a gross administration charge? I try and get my Away tickets from home games at club shop, otherwise phone call to shop with last resort being website. Shop do a brilliant service on phone with most tickets arriving next day!
Most fans would be upset if the profit was not going to the club AND being hit twice; massive profits on items being bought and then double whammies by delivery where delivery is only single option at £6 but no pick up or click and collec or .....?

Most big companies or corporations have accounts and their own delivery stamps which is factored into their pricing structure to cover costs etc. I'm almost certain rovers would employ the same circumstance so £6 postage is not accurate, it should cost no where near that. From a lamen pov it looks like a cynical attempt to exploit the upsurge in postals because of shop closure and no click and collect facility....but hey what do I know?
