I know this is a little pedantic but I work all week so unable to get to the club shop to purchase the new shirt..6.00 quid postage!! The royal mail sticker on the shirt was £1.83🤔. A little naughty in my view.

Packaging, paying someone to put it in the packet in the first place......£6 is pretty fair. ,

It’s not really fair though is it ? So it’s costs £ 4.17 to Chuck it in a plastic bag ! I’m not one to slag of the club but it really is over priced .

It is a lot and should be done at cost not another revenue stream

I expect the bag costs 50p (although probably less in bulk), plus printing etc. It is overpriced though, but with the lack of revenue in the club for 5 months I don't mind paying it - appreciate not everyone will be in the same boat though. Also don't forget the shirts are a lot cheaper than they used to be

Felt a bit gutted when I ordered a Rovers snood thing for £6 and was then charged £6 for delivery. I took it as ok, but the more I think about it, seems a bit wrong.

Does that 1.83 include VAT? That adds a nice chunk on to everything

Totally agree with o p.
There's no click and collect service, so no option but to pay for overpriced postage. Naughties..

3.50 would be a reasonable amount. Sometimes smaller retailers are less sophisticated with their pricing for delivery though

I run three online shops, two on ebay and one on amazon, £6 is very very steep for p&p, it's because they have a captive market I'm afraid.
As for the bag its packaged in it will cost no where near 50p, I buy 1000 at a time and they work out less than 5p.

Under the current circumstances If it keeps as many people in a job as possible I’m not bothered by it.

The club charges 20 quid for all lightweight packages sent to overseas destinations, even Europe where the postage is usually about 3 quid! It really puts me off buying anything from the club shop. I wrote to Tom Gorringe about it and received a very prompt reply saying that it's something that they are going to look into soon. UTG

UTG The £14 difference between £6 and £20 p&p means there's enough markup there for me to buy some things from the club shop and then sell them on to you 😉 UTG!

Not naughty at all.
It is called post and packing for a reason...
The club will be paying someone a salary who ultimately will be completing the processes of picking the shirt, packing the shirt and then sending it. Let's say that is 15 mins of someones day, who pays for that if we just charge cost of the stamp?
May seem petty, greedy etc , but these little 10 / 15 min slots of peoples days that do not get accounted for are what lead to businesses not making profit.

I agree with the OP. Not sure if I would use the term 'rip off' but it's definitely excessive and puts me off buying stuff.

If we have staff sitting around in the shop all day we don’t charge a lounging, drinking tea and packing your bag and say goodbye fee. Also takes nowhere near 15 mins. Especially when they get into the swing of things and Royal Mail comes to pick everything up.

There was me thinking that inflated wages for players was why football clubs didn't make a profit, and it was those leeches working in the club shop packaging shirts and merchandise all along! Why can't the club build the cost of postage into the online pricing of items like a lot of online sellers do? They can get away with anthing they like that way.

All our staff have been Furloughed, apart from the management it seems only Clare and Kay have been working the a couple of mornings a week. it seems that Kay's done all the orders all summer, I assume she'd normally be working in the shop during the summer so her wages aren't extra to the club this summer anyway. £6 seems a rip off to me and puts me off buying a shirt when I assume the club already makes a tidy profit on each shirt sold, it's not as if they are selling them at cost price so need to make a profit from p&p, £4 an order would still cover all the p&p costs.
