New EFl RulesAccording to this news article, grounds will be closed if there is any discriminatory chanting: "The rules, which come into effect next season and apply to all domestic competitions, mean teams would be penalised for incidents such as discriminatory chanting by fans.
Offences could lead to full or partial stadium closures and fines."This is all well and good, but what's to stop , for example, 'teds coming to one of our games and chanting offensive stuff, so that our ground gets closed (or the other way round, of course). I can see this one leading to all sorts of issues, whilst agreeing that such chants must be stamped out.

What if a particular ex player of a particular ex club plays against us and I wanted to let them know that I believed they have feces on their head?

Is Irene Goodnight offensive to insomniacs? No, just to 'teds! Especially played about 10 times before the Paint Trophy regional final!

With only 2K or so season ticket holders at best being allowed entry I sense 82er's gaining entry and chanting is a bit remote!

Wow, bold (bald?) statement. It wont be hard to gather evidence but apart from sending out statements how do clubs control this? There will need to be a list of pre approved and vetted chants.

Thinking about, if there is no singing allowed in any Church due to Coronavirus......why should it be allowed in a football stadium? 🤔🤪

Are we allowed to sing - The referees a w**ker? Be a shame if we can’t because boy do we get some! That’s just a fact / true so can it be discriminatory? Doesn’t discriminatory in this case imply derogatory? Can we chant Yellows or not? Colour? It will be some time before fans are allowed anyway! EFL and Premier League and broadcasters would be best suited to sorting out their own institutionalised discriminatory practices first and set an example before such a “stupid” Idea is put in practice? It will be too difficult to enforce and would be unfair on most clubs as they will not be able to enforce it while a game is going on; once done, too late. UTG

Good to see everyone's taking this so seriously. Especially after what went on versus Brighton, and page upon page of tedious "but it's just banter" thread on here.

Nothing to worry about here. I'm sure with the EFLs recent track record, this will only apply to certain clubs they take a dislike to.

I presume the away fans get their own ground closed and not ours? If they chant we cant respond or we get the Mem closed? What chance us not responding? This doesn't seem workable in reality. Also it has to apply to all abuse not certain sections of society otherwise the new rule against discrimination is in itself discriminatory.
