Is Brunt really our top earner ? When we signed him he was out of Stokes youth team and I'm pretty sure he had zilch league experience. Why would he have been paid big money ?

It looks as though the lack of incoming players indicate that Clarke had spent his budget and he was told to reduce the wage bill first. Nothing wrong with that so hopefully the Easter deal and others can now be sanctioned.

Other possibilities to go out on loan are Gosling, Leadbitter, I guess Harrison isn't out of the question although I wouldn't want us to lose him on loan.
I guess Martin going might mean a bit of extra money.
Although Brunt is probably the most obvious.

Willem John Stanley "Will" Puddy's contract is up at the end of December and he would be the easiest to offload but obviously not the most expensive wage off of the bill.

Personally I can’t see any other striker being allowed to leave till January. With White gone, that leaves us with Brunt, Harrison, Taylor, a not match fit Balanta and an very inexperienced Jamie Lucas, plus Ward-Baptiste & Wilson even less experienced 1st Year pro’s.
DC/Club must have something in the pipeline, whether it is Easter, Tubbs, Hughes, whoever. God forbid no one comes in and we’re relying on Balanta to take White’s place & to be an “instant Messi Type Sensation” after so long out of the game.
The obvious ones would be Gosling or Leadbetter to have a few months somewhere else. Personally think Martin might be heading back to Luton at Xmas thou not before. Hopefully get LDV in on a longer end of season deal to fill a hole.
Thou going to throw a name into the mix, in someone who might be allowed to leave…….Mark McChrystal. His form has been like a yo-yo this season when he has played. When Trotman is back think we will be dropped. Plus we all know Lockyer’s preferred position is centre half so there is cover there.
In terms of wages Macca will certainly be on the higher end of the wages going out each month…

I would like to see him go but don't think it will happen.

Wouldn't be surprised if Browner was the top earner at the club, especially during the summer when there was so much speculation as to wether he would stay with us in the conference. I don't think anyone else will be leaving to raise funds. Who the hell have we got anyway? I reckon Jermaine man will be signed before the end of the day

I would be surprised if he is on more than Mildenhall who signed when we were a league 2 club whereas Brown has signed his latest contract with us as a conference club.

I'd have thought Parkes was the top earner at the club (and probably by a distance) with only Mildenhall and Macca coming close.

Why would we want to disrupt any of the back five? Can't see the logic in letting any of them go.

If Brown is still on his initial contract I'd expect it was quite low as he was a youngster. If he renewed in the summer though (which I can't remember tbh) then he will be up there with the 3 I've listed too

He isn't that great.

I just contacted my source, Mr Kirk Fireplace (57) who happens to be none other than Toni Watolas painter and decorater. He assures me that Mildy, Parkes, Browner and Macca are all on in excess of 19k a week.
Harrison is on 6 grand a week and gets all his taxi fares paid for "because he thinks he's a chuffin rock star"
Lockyer is still on YTS money. 93 quid a week before tax.
Sinclair is on minimum wage and can't even afford a razor.
Martin is on performance related pay and currently owes the club money.

It is no good whatsoever to get rid of players UNTIL a definite replacement is found and certain to sign. With our record this season on signings I will be very surprised if either Easter or Tubbs sign so at the moment I am looking at a side who this weekend will be one regular member of the squad short (White) having only recently lost Cunnington back to his owner club. Many a Manager have their "Players they want to sign" from seemingly a very high level in Conference terms but how many of these have we signed since last season? I would suggest we wait and see what happens as having a clear out is fine but only accompanied by signings that are better than we have. I hope I am very wrong and that by the weekend we have two new strikers and a midfield general worthy of the name but we will see.

We MUST be getting in at least one player surely??

One would definitely hope so Hugo the Elder but this is Bristol Rovers and i remember far more times over many years that we have released players and not replaced them particularly where a deadline is coming up than where we have signed a player without letting anyone go.
