As quoted in the WDP this morning. I presumed that the 1000 supporters that would be admitted being ST holders no revenue would be forthcoming for the club? So do we, like some EFL clubs decide that the expenditure is a good PR or not. As a ST Holder many years it seems like I will miss out on being possibly one of the 1000, plus I will miss out on the Ifollow match. Despite calls yesterday to the club I still cannot get an email with a code. Any football on the Downs!!

gaschat.co.uk/post/652119I don't think cost came into it but that it would be too late for the club to get authorisation for it within a matter of hours and that the club wants ALL season ticket holders to be able to attend at the very least? That's probably why the survey has come out so the club can get an idea of numbers of season ticket holders who definitely want to attend a game irrespective. As regards the club making money, if 1,000 season ticket holders attended, club will not need to refund them any money later. There may be additional costs in extra stewards, etc. but that could be minimised. IFollow can be watched by anyone with internet for £10. If you are forced to pay without a code, my understanding is that you will get your season ticket match amount back in due course? I agree with the club's position but would have loved to attend the first game against a very good Ipswich. At least the M4 will not have many tractors chugging along this weekend?

Increasingly looking like there will be a long long time until we can have full ground again

I'm just hoping the leadership in TG on the commercial aspect, the increase in iFollow, Wael's support + lowered wages means we should hopefully survive? I assume we'll start seeing a lot more advertisements soon too to assist?

Just thinking about social distancing and these 1k fan admittance trials.I don’t see too much problem getting crowds in and getting spaced out safely, but just think how it used to be on the trains and planes when everyone tries to rush off at the same time.I can foresee carnage if this is not thought out meticulously.

No matter how good Gorringe is we, along with most clubs outside of the premier league, will go bust if we carry on locking everything down for 2 years. Sport, entertainment, hospitality and many others just won’t continue to survive for much longer unless we take a drastically different approach or some genius comes up with a vaccine or cure.

Yeah you're right, I just assume that our spending is now less? Our commercial sales are through the roof and record breaking. Would be interesting to see how many fans pay on iFollow each week. Hospitality as you say will be the biggest hit, but ultimately here we're reliant upon Wael to save us.

Just make masks mandatory in sports venues. That and hand sanitizers on entering and leaving the ground. Trying to social distance in sports stadiums is just never going to work - unless you have very small crowds which then makes grounds opening economically unviable, a bit like Starnes said this week about the 1000 pilot. Masks in supermarkets seems to work. I haven’t heard of any which have been the focal point of a local spike in cases. Bars yes. Parties yes. Supermarkets no.

Agreed the commercial side of the club is better run than ever, might only make a difference of a matter of months existence though? Hopefully Wael will continue to prop us up and we’ll be part of a 10 team EFL in a couple of years!

Am I the only one who thinks cost shouldn't come in to it? Sure, we might lose a bit more money allowing 1000 fans in but let's face it we are losing money with no attendances anyway and a whole point of a pilot test is trialling getting some fans back in the stadium to see if in the future it's possible to have larger attendances in the ground safely.
What's more just having 1000 fans in the ground is a step in the right direction and honours the commitments to 1000 ST holders to show them live sport. Hope being part of the trial is considered in future home games going forward.
