Just for a bit of fun....
With the transfer deadline round the corner, you are BG for a day and are allowed one more signing
What position would you like to strengthen?
Would it be a loan or a permanent?
And do we think we need any more players or are you, as Ben, happy with the squad and telling Wael to keep his cheque book in his pocket?
For me personally I worry about the frailty of the right hand side of the defense, with all 3 of Hare, Little and Rodders all prone to injury
So I’m going to be boring and go for a loan, a young hungry and cheap right wing back.
Over to you.....

Over to you..... Hmm my tough choice with just one....... personally I'd go for an experienced striker who maybe has 2 or 3 years left at this level who can act as a mentor and 'coach' to our existing 3 (Hanlan, Ayunga and Daly).... bit like Easter when he joined or Craig for the defence. Our strikers all have potential and are coachable and will improve but they are still rough diamonds and this could help speed the process.... I'd go for perm rather than loan so they are truly bought into their role at the club ...... hopefully they'd be a bit different in type of striker to our other 3 also to add that variety up top

Over to you..... I’m hoping BG stays with the 2 up top we played with yesterday and I think with Hanlan, partnered by one of Ayunga, Daly, Nicholson, JML, I think hopefully we should have enough goals there. If we could afford it a loan option to strengthen that position would be good but not a necessity. Goalkeepers are fine, we have the best keeper in the league and a very capable backup. Centre of defence has enough depth and quality there. Full backs/ wing backs, we look good on both sides even though I do get the OPs point about the right hand side but I think hoole could be called upon. Central midfield is the area I’m still not convinced about. We have some young technical players and we do have some experience in Upson, but I think it’s obvious we lack that bit of bite, energy and leadership. So this is the area I would like to add a player and I don’t think we have to sign anyone just bring back the player already in the squad in Ogogo. So all in all bring back Ogogo and add a striker on loan if the right one is available.

No more loanees as i feel a couple of our own young players have, unfortunately, been pushed down the pecking order by recent loans which is disappointing IMHO. If Abs is not to be welcomed back into the fold, a situation which i do not understand, then we still need some bite in midfield so that is what i would be looking for

I think we need a defensive midfielder. Some would argue we already have one, but that ship seems to have sailed. When we took the lead yesterday, Northampton changed shape to try and play behind our midfield and break the lines, but the sending off scuppered that for them. For games where the opposition can hurt us by getting between the lines we need to be able to shore the midfield. Ipswich and Donny cruelly exposed that issue. Sunderland did too to a lesser extent.

That’s a good shout I haven’t seen enough of the development lads to make an assessment, are there any players there could step up?

Experienced defensive midfielder to replace Ogogo is an absolute must.

Centre Midfield.
Not too impressed with Grant or Westbrooke so far.
We only really got on top yesterday after the sending off. From that point on, with the extra space available, both improved. Westbrooke in particular started to control the game. Prior to that however, they have very little influence and too often passed backwards or sideways.
Personally, I'm not convinced they work well together. I'd like to see someone like Sheehan next to Westbrooke.

The Chelsea loanee seems more like a defensive midfielder to me.

All the above are good shouts. But I don’t particularly want us to sign anyone, if we do it will just push Walker, Hargreaves, Mehew further down the list. These three young players need to play games. We’ve recruited quite a few and have covered most areas. BG needs to use what he’s got and mould it into a team, I’m not sure more choices will be helpful. UTG!

Can people forget Ogogo for two reaons- one he wasn't that good but more importantly there is no way back from not being in the squad at all. He is as good as gone.

We are very short in the strikers department and a striker is a must . We have a squad of about 30 consisting of around 11 defenders and 9 plus midfielders .
We only have 3 pure strikers and two have never had any experience at this level. If a striker get injured . We are down to two and so on.
Common sense says we need an experience striker to support the potential coming up. We can opt for a midfield loan a bit later .

Agreed we definitely need a striker. 1 injury up front and we're in real trouble.

Tristan Abrahams
Strong, quick, can hold the ball up well, or run in behind. Can develop further too.
