Pleasantly surprised by this one.
Was expecting Koike who I was fairly excited about and hoping for a striker but never imagined we sign another midfielder, albeit an attacking one.
Hoping he can rediscover his form at Walsall because my only reservation is the comments from most Charlton and Bolton fans on other forums seem pretty negative. It seems he failed to impress at either club but at 29 he's not over the hill and he's proved how effective he can be in the right team.
Looking forward to seeing him in the B&W quarters. We're certainly spoilt for choice in midfield now.

Incredible signing. Great frontman who also has flair and creativity to his game and might add to the assists and key passes department. Unreal. Very hyped for this

What is Bowyer's playing style out of interwst? I think he could really suit how we are trying to play. Bowyer's style can be a little bit negative at times to be honest. It's yet to be seen what his formation will be for this season. But being a box to box midfielder in his playing days, I don't think he's such a fan of central playmaker types like Oztumer who are best when they are released from defensive duties. Bowyer has it in for another of our attacking midfielders also for this reason. I think Oztumer will work best with a couple of midfielders behind him. Can't see how he could fit into a 4-4-2. Just my opinion. Didn't Bowyer sign him when he left Bolton, if so, it seems odd to sign a player who doesn't suit his style of play? Not really sure the wage cap comes into play with players already under contract this summer, although clearly there's no point paying a player a decent wage if Bowyer doesn't intend ever playing him.

I wonder whether BG will be tempted to go back to his 343 now we have some threat from the wingback areas and two proper #10s in the squad... __________Jaakkola ____Ehmer_Baldwin_Harries Hare___Grant___Zain__Tutonda __McCormick___Oztumer _________Hanlan That would be a bit harsh on Daly, who's our only striker to score from open play this season?

Only an example XI, Topz. All the attackers will get plenty of game time with the amount of matches we have coming up over the next few months.

It's a fair question and I don't know the answer. Also worth noting Oztumer started our last match against Sunderland. Can only assume we have a new formation coming with our new incomings. I believe players already signed before the cap would count as 2k pw even if their salary was higher, but they would still count.

I think there's something like 27 senior first team players on our books now, 28 if you include Koiki who looks like he's signing too. Got to imagine there will be some departures before 5pm tomorrow. A marquee signing and credit to Wael for that, but I really don’t understand our transfer policy. It feels a bit like we got some players in early just as a basis to work from and then kept adding players who might be better, to the point where we might see some of the ones signed early sent out on loan because they are no longer good enough. Plus we have youngsters the owner wanted us to develop to sell on. We’re still short of an actual striker as well aren’t we because this guy is a midfielder? Hopefully it all works out but the thinking seems a bit muddled on the face of it.

He scored 15 goals on his last league one season. That is as good as any striker in my view.

Played there for Charlton on occasion and would give him a chance to display his goalscoring ability fingers crossed!

We’ve got to see how it goes before we say great signing though. Don’t get me wrong I’m very excited about this but so many times in the past our best signings have been the underwhelming ones on the day. Every player starts with a clean slate and has to earn his right to be considered a great signing by playing well. If he can perform like he did against us a couple of years ago on a regular basis then he’ll be a bloody fantastic signing.

I really like the fact that we've signed some highly rated young players like Grant, Westbrooke, Tutonda, Hanlan that are starting to establish themselves in the football league as well as some tried and tested experience in the form of Ehmer, Baldwin and now Oztumer. My only worry is that in this current economic environment with no fans, we've got to shift 5-6 players on in order to keep the budget down yet I'm not sure if we've left ourselves enough time with the transfer window closing in less than 24 hours. I also think Garner will have trouble keeping everyone happy with such a big squad and only so many spots in the first 11.

From what we’ve seen so far it does seem very “Ben Garner” to for-go a goal getting striker and aim to get our goals from a midfielder whilst employing two strikers to make a nuisance of themselves. Fingers crossed it all comes together on the pitch

Delighted to see a rated league player signing. It's a good opportunity for both us and the player, to revive its career. Also nice to see Ben Garner or Wael maybe wanting this, kind of an odd player, that had its moment but still is a bet for the team. I like to bet and i would surely bet on this lad.

Also if any club could make a player look bad it’s us, with our history of under-whelming players who didn’t play to their potential. Need to wait and see what happens on the pitch....

But haven’t we signed too many defenders and midfielders and not enough strikers? It all seems to lack balance and it seems odd to send players out on loan who have only just signed, which I’m sure we must have to do otherwise we could play two different teams each Saturday plus have a full complement of subs!

Yes a good signing but has lost his form last couple of seasons at Charlton and Bolton. But if he can rediscover that form then we will have one cracking player.
