Hey gang, so I saw a few people have been having problems with their iFollow, and I did a bit of digging - appears we're not the only ones. Personally I don't use the app, but I want to be helpful so here's a few pointers for everyone after what I've gleaned! Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Opera are all know to work. - Safari (Mac) is notoriously rubbish, and I've known a few people who have switched to Chrome and got it working. Clearing Cache: Browsers store lots of old data, and this is usually the first thing I do as a techy. Through your browser navigate to settings and poke around. Usually found through "clearing browsing history (but make sure to untick "passwords" etc, otherwise you might lose them!) support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=enAPP / OS Updates: According to the Luton website, iFollow issued an update for the Android/iOS apps in September. Definitely worth following this link to see if yours is out of date www.lutontown.co.uk/news/2020/september/new-app/support.google.com/googleplay/answer/113412?hl=en-GBsupport.apple.com/en-gb/HT202180- Another point is your Android/iOS version, and this is the same with Windows and Mac etc. You may be notified of a *system update* (which apple are more forthcoming with). Both can be done by navigating to your phone settings and finding the advanced/system or something similar, and "Software Version Update". Windows is through Control Panel > Update & Recovery, Mac can be done through the App Store. www.t-mobile.com/resources/how-to-update-android-phonesupport.apple.com/en-gb/HT204204support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mchlpx1065/macwww.cnet.com/how-to/windows-10-october-2020-update-everything-you-need-to-know/TL;DR... (This is the order I would go through first off) - Clear the Cache - - Make sure your phone/computer is up to date - Then make sure your iFollow app is up to date Anyways, I hope this helps! More than happy to keep my face in this thread for anything a bit more specific perhaps, can always send more links and photo/screenshot examples! Just want you all to watch the game 😎😎😎

Definitely recommend using Chrome as I had numerous problems with Safari. My problem is how do I get the Radio Bristol commentary for the away games, it was particularly irksome listening to Radio Shropshire last night. I cannot find where on iFollow you can switch the commentary - has anyone else managed it?

That's a good shout, I'm sure the EFL link comes back to the Rovers page, but as I don't use it I can't comment on that too much, but also good shout on the Audio for Devon!

Hi Westy
could do with a bit of techy help
long story this but here goes
been trying to run ifollow on TV with difficulty not a smart TV
runs fine on my iphone no buffering perfect but a bloody little screen to watch it so purchased a chromecast but will not connect no matter what. we have got other devices that connect fine but apple & google dont seem compatible downloaded and tried about 5 mirroring apps 4 didn't work 1 did with a bit of a delay played some of the highlight videos worked. as soon as i went to live streaming on a Saturday it put the header of the screen and the footer but a blank screen where the ifollow should be !!
so last try purchased a direct cable from apple to HDMI plugged in played the videos perfect hardly a delay, on Ifollow bloody thing the same as the screen mirroring header/footer no picture
we've also got a tablet of which we've done the things you suggest it will play it sometimes others the circle of death and we've worked out if we try to cast it, it takes up too much memory and the circle of death appears
so thinking of purchasing a smart TV with 4k Streaming do you think that would work ?
Saturdays are somewhat stressful at the moment let alone watching the gas hanging on :-)
Cheers UTG

On Saturday vs Burton I really struggled to get a stream. I tried Chrome, Edge and a VPN setting. I made sure I logged out of ifollow everytime. In the end I switched of wifi and used my phone as a personal hotspot and ran a 4G connection which worked perfectly. Im not that computer savvy but it must be said ifollow is a ball ache!

I watch on my iPad, I don’t use the Rovers or the EFL APP, I just go to the Rovers website, click on iFollow. I use Safari, never had a problem, perfect picture. Can choose home or away commentary. However, can anyone say if it’s worth investing in some contraption that will enable me to connect the iPad to the TV. A few years back I connected my PC to the TV using hdmi cable - picture was fine but the sound came out of the PC not TV 😩

I'm not sure what difference a VPN setting would make though?

Thanks, great stuff Westy. I’ll keep that for future reference in case it’s needed. Perhaps because I do everything through my iPad, booking it, paying it, watching it without trying any other device it’s been ok and that’s using Safari as my browser. I just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.😉 UTG!
ps. Exactly like toddy1953.

I watch on my iPad via Safari. I get a good picture without problems and choose the rovers commentary. I thought I’d like to watch on my smart tv so bought a chromecast. I get sa far as achieving the mirror of my iPad screen but the image on the tv freezes so I end up watching on the IPad anyway. I noticed during setup that the tv had to be connected to Bluetooth which I did and can only assume that the iPad connection to chromecast is bluetooth and as our cellular signal is weak maybe thats why the screen freezes. Any advice appreciated

First instinct is yes to grab a Smart TV - if you're able, it's the way things are going (and maybe you just need that last reason to get one!) Apple of notorious for their closed ecosystem, I think the only definite suggestion on that front would be to go for an AppleTV, it's similar to a chromecast but more of a little box. Pretty good stuff if you're an Apple household and I know for sure that's the best you'll be able to get that working AppleTV box would be a lot cheaper than a new Smart TV, and more use in the house if you're a iPhone/iPad family?! But yeah, personally if I could I'd get a snazzy new Smart TV and go through the in built browser Hope this helps? 🤓

That's a tricky one. Could possibly be your home internet connection (any idea what speed you pay for?) For example, my Mum's on Sky, and honestly her WiFi is rubbish, I have to just use my 4G when I go and visit, and also depending on how many people are in the house the speed gets shared to everyone, but as you then hotspotted your phone, you likely had a better connection all to yourself I think! Pain in the ass granted, from what I've been reading, certainly sounds like it!

I was at my in laws who have very basic broadband in the end just pleased to get the game on. VPN always works for me getting glasto tickets so was trying anything.

Instead of plugging anything up see if you can login to your iFollow account straight through the TV Browser, save you fiddling with wires and the rest!

That's your culprit, home broadband on sale for cheap prices is usually more trouble than it works but sold very easily to the older gen who say to their salesman "well, I only do email and a bit of Facebook", until nobody in the house can load Facebook, let alone a stream!
