What style of play can we expect and what's his preferred formation? Is he likely to persevere with the young talent we have or dissect the squad with a steamroller and put us through all that again at the next window? Is he the kind of man who learns from his mistakes or the type who stubbornly sticks to a blueprint for failure? What part of Bath does he live in? I believe he actually lives in Biddestone.

"attack the post not the poster"......... You are one of the reasons why many people don't come on here and post because your attitude towards fellow fans of Bristol Rovers football club, just because you think you know something about football makes you feel more important than us lesser members of this site Your post above explains it all to sensible people You obviously don't know me very well then. I’ve never had a superiority complex and would never "feel more important" than "lesser members of this site". There are no lesser members of the site, We are all gasheads with an opinion and that is what makes this place and the game great. I might over step the mark on occasions, probably did today, but I've always tried to be as civil as possible where possible, despite often being called out for this and that on numerous occasions by various posters. If I've offended you or anyone else then I'm sorry. Group hug? I am trying to catch up on this lovely Paul Tisdale post and have to read this god awful simmering, bickering, boring argument. I don’t know either of you and I don’t want to offend you, but could you do us all a favour..........meet in a boxing ring and sort it out? Paul Tisdale, welcome to the club, please be successful. You have some nice hat arrangements, wear lovely clothes, have managed some football clubs and appear to be a good communicator. That is a significant improvement on our last two managers. You have made me happier than last Saturday.

He needs time...a few wins and the top 10 isn’t far off. PPG in our last 10 league games is 1.1 per game including 5 of the top 10 teams.
1.7 ppg gets you in the play offs. Anything above 1 will keep you safe.
8 points out of the next 5 games is playoff form

Fair play to Jamie. is it just me or does anyone else cringe when watching that montage of our new gaffer? Can someone edit it with the Darth Vader entrance music behind it? "Matty, i am your father, come to the dark side, the force is strong in you"

Exeter fan commented today at work:
Good manager done well for us. You'll like his cravats.
He also said, if Exeter played us at home he would be roundly welcomed and applauded.
Appears interesting acquisition on paper..

"Matty, i am your father, come to the dark side, the force is strong in you" What they do now innit. The ones for the players are the same. Look at camera and fold arms. England rugby started it years ago in the six nations lineup videos. Then the Premier League cottoned on, now everyone does it. I suspect something that's come from the States.

Thanks for that GGMI good read. Lots of different views some of which made me laugh. One has us down for certain relegation. One even said something about he was dependent on his two strikers at MKD and how they scored goals but if you took them away he’d have been in trouble. In other words much like any other team. Take Mane and Salah away from Liverpool and they’d not be as good. Take Taylor and Bodin away from our League 2 team and we’d probably not got promoted. But fans are fans and you get both sides. But that did make me chuckle at the stupidity of some comments. When you’ve been at a team for so long and you’ve got beyond their natural level then you will have bad seasons and the fans get blasé or complacent or just get used to the manager. Tisdale did a very good job at Exeter over 12 years (?)and at MKDs. And I’d say we were more like Exeter than MKD, at least I hope we are. UTG!

I know a lot of people wanted Cook, but my opinion is that Tisdale is the best fit. For me Cook took a couple of attempts to get Portsmouth promoted from L2 on what must have beeen a good budget for the level.
Tisdale's record - on papaer - is really good. Having watched/listened to all the interviews, I think he's here for the right reasons. Actually called us "Rovers" like that's how he refers to us normally. I'm not expecting much in terms of play-off chasing this season, but I am optimistic for the future.
