It was clear we needed to make our changes in the 50th minute. Why it took so long to make the first change let alone the double is bewildering. Fair enough post with the benefit of hindsight, but there was a formation change at half time where we reverted to a back 4 and diamond in midfield.....I think (with hindsight) PT was allowing for time for that change to bed in. And it looked to temporarily work. We looked more balanced. So then, he kept the shape by subbing Westbrooke for the uncomfortable in new role, Harries..... I thought this reinforced PT confidence he had made the correct change at the correct time...... until we unluckily conceded. Don't understand why Balders was brought on (?), it's difficult to see when not actually there, but it appeared Baldwin wasn't in his familiar centre back role.... happy to be corrected, but that's what it looked to me at the time... Definitely agree that it is easy for us to say what we would and should of done after the event. It was the double substitution so late that I was more confused with, not so much the personnel more the timing. I agree that the formation change at half time did make us look more balanced and I think I have said this in the match day thread, although I think for me the attacking changes needed to come sooner rather than when we were chasing the game. The game for me had 0-0 written all over it and IMO we would of made those changes earlier to go and win the game. PT stated in his interview that he was happen to settle for a point, which in his first game in charge would of made sense rather than get off to a losing start. Unfortunately we lost the game anyway and I just think if he was a bit braver with his changes we could of come away with the 3 points. I’m not trying to criticise as he only had one meeting with his new squad and staff and that would of been mainly to introduce himself and meet people.

If we agree on this, it is the first time this calendar year I have seen this. A drastic improvement, and gives hope that although it didn't reap reward this time, we have a manager that can implement positive change rather than stand there wondering why it isn't working and make like for like subs.. I agree with the baffling double substitutions late on, maybe too late on.... it's a fair question.

I know it’s lockdown and I know it’s driving people bat sh** crazy but utter bollocks being spouted here is ridiculous.
Tisdale went into the game having not had a day on the grass and heavily reliant on the coaching staff for everything in prep for this game and then during the game.
For goodness sake, what did anyone expect?
Easy game football management isn’t it eh?

I mean I for one didn’t expect a centre half to replace a central midfielder in the 87th minute when 1-0 down to Swindon if I am 100% honest.

Even if he hadn't met any players, or seen any previous games, that sub made no sense at all unless we were settling for a 1-0 defeat.

Made sense to me, start of the second half he switched to a flat back 4, that sub switched us to 3 at the back pushing an extra body forward. It isn't rocket science.

Is it now Gaschat Fact that PT made poor substitutions because he hadn't bothered to learn anything about the players, including their positions, numbers and indeed names?
I'd hate to think someone just made that up and now everyone believes it.
