I always thought Dominic Poleon was good when at Leeds Utd ... Career seemed to drift after that.

Looking through the list a few 'cheap' options which could be done on a short term deal just to bolster numbers. Chris O'Grady is knocking on and not much of a goal scorer, but could hold the ball up well to create for the likes of otzumer, nicholson and hanlon. Alex Jones, whilst not a classic big man has enough height to trouble defenders and has shown he can score goals at this level, not done it for awhile but whilst we are desperate he could do a job. Other option, though much smaller is dominic poleon, is smaller but decent strength and pace, could do worse then him to take us to 4 strikers

Sadly, i think our options are to stick with the 3 we have or get someone like the above (players nobody else wants!) in for cheap, it's a joke that we have got to this position!

Danny Graham or Kyle Lafferty probably the most realistic best of a bad bunch now, or stick with what we have as you said.

If we wait long enough there will be plenty available if the reported financial crisis in LGL 1 clubs happens and a few go under

Lives just outside Swansea on the Gower. Easy commute and would have thought playing to the end of this season is better than training and waiting for an approach.

Let's be honest, we're not signing anyone. To do so now would be to U-turn on the policy of only signing players to make the squad better. Relegation will probably be a fair outcome to an incredibly arrogant and insipid way of running the football side of the club for 2 years.

I would worry about the wage demands of either of them, out of the 2 would take Lafferty as a lot more mobile, but for what he would demand in wages we probably could have signed a reasonable striker and paid a fee....

I think its just a case of covering injuries. last night I would have pretty much accepted any half decent striker. Because Nicholson will get injured again, Daly will get injured again and Hanlan playing as much as he is will likely get injured at some point and will end up with a Wigan situation again which we cannot afford to do.

That is a very depressing list but ask yourself, would you rather Poleon or Graham up front or an unfit Josh Barrett which I can see happening again before the season is out with the quantity and injury records of our strikers.

I think that with Phillips and Walker as options, I wouldn't have thought Barrett would be called upon in that role again... but you never know

Will Grigg was the most realistic obvious striker we could have signed yesterday and he went to MK Dons. You can blame who ever you want, it comes across as being much more simple than that, have we run out of money and couldn't afford another player on the books. Anyway with no signings in this window must mean another promotion for Widdrington, he could be our new manager by Saturday evening.

If he’s that desperate to play then why not be done with it and play for Newport? He’s openly knocked them back and seeing as we’re barely any higher than them or financially better off in the grand scheme of things I doubt he would even answer the phone to us. He’s probably after championship football or bust because of the wage differential

Did they not sign a striker as I suggested back in November because ... A . They tried offered great money but every striker made excuses not to come B. The managers for some unknown reason shyed away from strikers like Dracula from a cross C. The board collected £1.2 mil on JCH and started the ' cut backs' as per usual to balance the books and only 100k was offered on two rookies. The saga on our limited strike force must be a learning experience and never repeated again. But I wonder was it A B C ?
