Right, one swallow doesn't make a summer and all that BUT that was a brilliant attacking display today !
One touch and movement, driving forwards , both out wide and through the middle, creating so many chances and some brilliant goals. With that, playing the ball around and keeping possession for a couple of minutes at a time, it seemed. I was purring - ha ha !!
So when did we last play like that. can't remember ever with DC. I'd have to go back to Trolls' days - the Lincoln play off game and a few in L1 when we demolished Southend with Lambo bagging 4.
What do you think ?

Can you remember in the second half we must have played 20-30 passes finishing with a cross into the box which their goalie took off Nicholson's head, what a goal that would have been.

The difference is having players who can control the ball, then pass and move, we have for too long spent ages passing the ball across a backfour to a deep midfielder and back again. today we got the ball forward to our dangerous players quickly
Upson was transformed today from the dire backward passing, crab like player we have endured for so long who just slowed down every attack. Certainly his best game for ages or ever!
Nicholson, Hanlon, and Oztumar tore Wimbledon apart (Hanlon needs to stay on his feet more as is handful when he does). Ehmer and Leahy attacked and defended.
Shame Westbrooke and Grant seemed to be underrated they both will develop into great players for us.
We need to remember that a full Mem supporting this team will raise their performance a notch or two.

It was a fine display. We have to keep up that standard now. We know what these guys are capable of.

We played some fast flowing, free football in the Ollie days with some exciting players such as Wally, Frankie B and Latvian...with JR & JC that all they done was score goals...!
Today was the best attacking performance can remember for a long time.

He s moved us up the pitch and given the players some confidence, Nicholson was amazing today and agree Upson was outstanding after some very negative displays.
We need to beat plymouth then go to the valley where we will see where we are at this moment, as it will be a tough game but what a difference from Wednesday.

It's a cliche, but if some of those goals were scored in the prem, the world world be waxing lyrical.... They were in a word.. sensational

What did grate me with BG was saying how we were a possession based team yet nearly every game we always had less ball than the other team with some games less than 40%
I know possession means nothing unless you put the ball in the net but looking at the stats since PT came in are
Swindon 50% - 50%
Wigan 58% - 42%
Darlington 56% - 44%
Gillingham 64% - 36%
Wimbledon 64% - 36%
Like I said possession means nothing without goals as Wednesday proved but with the players we have it does show that we can and are what BG said we were but sadly for him it looks like Tisdale has mamaged to do what BG wanted but couldn’t get the players to do.

We need to remember that a full Mem supporting this team will raise their performance a notch or two. Agree that Upson was superb today. He’s a player I’ve been standing up for quite a bit as I feel he is unjustly criticised by a number of Gasheads. Today was his 100th game for us and his 429th professional game including a substantial number in the Championship. Capped for England at U19 level shows the quality of player we’re lucky enough to have here. I don’t think a dire crab like footballer as you’ve described would ever be able to have such a career in the game. Seen him play like he did today a number of times for us but they have mainly been away for some reason. If these performances had been at the Mem then I think many more would appreciate what he brings to the team. Glad that PT has brought him back into the fold because we’re generally better all round when he plays. UTG!!

Always thought Upson was a good, experienced player to have around the club but thought recently his legs had gone.
Tisdale has given him a new lease of life though as I think Garner was beginning to phase him out of the team.
Seems as if the new manager has asked him to recycle the ball with a bit more urgency to get the attacking four on the ball sooner and cause more of threat in the final third.
This is playing to our strengths - just deliver it quickly to the players that cause the damage!

I have always rated Ed but have to confess that I wouldn't have had him in the team based on his performances this season but today I thought he was absolutely superb. The entire team played well today and showed exactly what65 we have seen in glimpses this season so far. Lets hope that this is the start of something good.

The way we kept the ball and passed it around was fantastic. None of this passing around at the back. The new tactic is get it forward as quickly as possible and then pass it around in the oppositions half. Upson was fantastic because he was looking to get the ball forward as quickly as possible every time he got the ball and his assist for the third was top draw. Its when he either decides to or is told to slow it down that we see all this sideways and backwards passing.

Upson has always been best on the front foot. It's not the first time he's sparkled when asked to play as an attacking midfielder.

Upson’s biggest issue is his consistency. Barring one year when he ran the Yeovil midfield to the championship, he has always lacked consistency. There is absolutely no doubt he is a good player, but you only see it 5 games out of 44. That’s the frustrating thing with him, you never know which Upson is going to turn up.
