Could you do me the honour of posting my post in full please GGMI and avoid quoting me out of context. If you are unable to do that, could you please f**k off you twatt and give all of us a rest! "Like watching two Premier teams compared to our ponderous play. Plymouth look very good, Mayor and Cooper both quality players." Few weeks later and BOOM 3-0, have some of that! Many of your posts I like GGMI, but why do you insist on letting yourself down with childish trolling wind ups?

On their forum they expected to be given the 3 points for tonight unbelievable Jeff! That's probably the number of points they'd have been awarded if the game has gone ahead.

The whole our game / Sunderland game is a bit confusing.
Sunderland worried about an EFL investigation but obviously we are not. You would think that once the ELF had seen evidence of a positive test from at least one first team player that they would be actively encouraging the game to be called off.

There is just no need of it, but I am guilty of falling into GGMI,s trap on many occasions, all this does is make me look a twat too! So no more for me Iβm just gonna let him get on with it and not bother rising to the bait. Probably best if other people do the same as difficult as that is! UTG!

You would think that once the ELF had seen evidence of a positive test from at least one first team player that they would be actively encouraging the game to be called off. The only difference I can think of is that we were due to travel, out of a Tier3 zone, whereas Sunderland (with 1 player tested positive and 7 isolating due to that other player) were at home so no travelling (for them) involved. It is a weak argument though and I agree that the EFL should not put any barrier in the way of clubs and individuals acting responsibly in the event of positive test results. It seems that Sunderland couldn't agree with the EFL that there was no risk of them being penalised for calling the game off. Either we were confident of no risk or just decided it was the responsible thing to do - whatever the EFL subsequently decide to do regarding punishment

This may have something to do with it:
SECTION 5 - FIXTURES
24 Requirement to Play Full Strength Sides in League Matches
24.1 Each Club shall play its full strength in all Matches played under the auspices of The League unless some satisfactory reason is given. In the event of the explanation not being deemed satisfactory the Board shall refer the matter to a Disciplinary Commission which has the power to impose such penalties as it shall think fit.
Guidance
From the fourth Thursday in March, any team sheet for a League game should include at least 10 outfield players who featured on the team sheet for the League game before.
So it may be down to how many "1st team players" tested positive and how many are isolating.

Accrington, Crewe and another have also had similar situations so far.

Since I posted my contribution above, I have learned that Sunderlands game went ahead, because they refused to postpone, without knowing what the possible sanctions are for postponing due to CV19.
Each game that is called off is "investigated". If there are irregularities, or protocols not followed, then fines or points deductions can follow.
Rovers just said to EFL, yeah, fill your boots, we have followed all the correct protocols. Don't think you can touch us.

As for the football results not to bad for us, though Oxford had good win , Hull beaten again, Swindon back in trouble makes our loss there even more disappointing, meanwhile Marmite manager Cotterell has certainly got Shrews performing ,two cracking away wins last two games . as for the idea that Rovers or any other club could be penalised for the postponement during Covid pandemic is ludicrous in the extreme isn't it?

Surely government advice trumps what the EFL think. If the club have followed the guidance to avoid covid in the first instance and once a positive case has been found they then follow government guidelines then the EFL can do one. If it is deemed unsafe to get a team together then you don't play. If Sunderland were unsure so decided to play I'd expect the government to query the size of sunderlands bubble and question the EFLs handling of such cases
