www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/oxford-robinson-covid-bristol-rovers-4807405Oxford United boss Karl Robinson believes clubs who break COVID-19 regulations should face tougher penalties, including points deduction, after the Us' trip to Bristol Rovers was called off. The Gas squad and coaching staff are in self-isolation after an unconfirmed number of positive coronavirus tests were returned earlier this week. Rovers' games against Charlton Athletic and Oxford, which were due to take place on Tuesday and Saturday respectively, have been postponed, and Paul Tisdale's squad cannot return to training until Christmas Eve. Oxford have had multiple schedule changes due to COVID outbreaks in opposition camps this season. Their fixture with Crewe Alexandra took three attempts to play and their derby clash with Swindon Town was also postponed. Robinson believes some rival clubs and managers are not following coronavirus protocols correctly and he has called for tougher punishments. He told the Oxford Mail: “When you have people who travel on coaches and stay in hotels when they know they’ve got COVID, at some stage points (deductions) have to be put in front of managers if they do the protocols wrong. “If I have a meeting with everyone in one room and someone tests positive, that’s my fault. “If we have every single player in the gym at one time, that’s my fault. “We’re in different dressing rooms, we sit in different seats and everyone’s socially-distanced while they’re eating. “Our training protocol has to change because of how close people are for a period of time. We’re constantly checking that. “We spend money on testing the second someone has a little cold and there’s other teams that don’t and get away with it. “The fine will come next season – something has to change.” The EFL is investigating the coronavirus outbreak among the Rovers squad to determine whether protocols were breached, a standard procedure for every club which is forced to postpone fixtures. What a complete f@cking tw@t. What happens if a player gets it from an asymptomatic player during a game? The bloke is a raving knobhead.

Remember this is the very same man that claimed the pitch in the centre circle at the Mem collapsed and injured a certain Matty Taylor last season.

As in all these situations as football fans we side with our side . If we were Charlton or Poxford we’d probably be moaning and saying how unfair it all was .
Ps F##k them 😜

What an absolute Pr*ck of a statement, surely when one or more of his players catch covid whats he going to say?
Dear EFL, 3 of my players have caught covid-19 as they were not compiling with government guidelines/caught it while on Christmas break seeing their families. Please deduct Oxford United 9 points for postponing the next 3 league games. Our bad, sorry.
Give me a break 😂

How strange ... Talk about London buses
In the case of one week that's two whining Scousers moaning that life treats them unfairly.
Throw in the Helium infused Hobbit and what a trio of Fools!!

Ps F##k them 😜 Can't remember too many Gasheads moaning when the Accrington game was called off. I think most were grateful, it hadn't happened to us. Now it's our turn and who knows the same may happen again in 2021 when the expected 3rd wave hits us

I don’t know what the protocols are for training, coaching & getting to games but I too believe that there should be punishment for clubs if they break protocol, as the rules are there to protect everyone, hence why the EFL have their investigation. However, does Robinson think he knows something re our situation or is he just reverting to type & just gobbing off? Either way he should keep his comments to himself, unless he has evidence & then he should speak to the EFL. Accrington had their issue 2 months ago & I can see anything on the outcome of the investigation. Surely this is fairly straightforward, did the club break protocol or did a player unknowingly bring the virus into the club. The sooner the EFL act the better imo

Didn't Darlington players test positive just after we played them, is he suggesting social distance football? The man has a brain virus.

So presumably he would be happy with the same tougher penalties being applied to his own club who have also called off games due to Covid ? After all our procedures have kept us Covid free for much longer than Oxford managed.

It's an irresponsible public comment to make.
People have sadly passed away from covid and all he (and others) can seem to do is turn it into a political project to suit their own ends in an uncompassionate way.
If you change the word "covid" to "cancer" it would show him up for the idiot he is.
I don't think it's unfair to campaign for him to have his @sshole sewn up to stop him speaking more sh!t..

Is he still a football manager? Blimey, he must have compromising photos of his chairman or something. The only time he hasn’t moaned about us after a match was when his charlton team beat us with a phantom goal which he of course thought was fair enough.
I’d also say looking at his physique that he should be more concerned about covid than most
