Firstly no one knows if we exceeded our playing budget . Secondly : we do have some money from cup runs . Otherwise : we need to loan a few out and target a few in. Until we know the full facts we are all making assumptions . Thirdly we have the money from the sale of JCH

Thirdly we have the money from the sale of JCH So you think after the last disastrous ten months the club has put that money away for a rainy day? Face the facts that our club is losing big money every week without any money coming in from gate receipts etc etc. I would suggest that money has gone towards running costs including players wages etc etc.

Advertising income/shop sales etc must also be falling as well. If Jaakola is going to be out for months then we need a new goalie, as JVS is liable to cost us at least a goal a game, which is more than any new striker will score.

People are blaming JVS for the goal because of the poor kick but his positioning on the shot was dreadful and he should have stopped it.

I think there is some confusion here as to what exceeding / not exceeding our budget means. There is a salary cap, which we have to adhere to, although as pre-existing contracts are accounted for differently, that will have greater significance in future seasons. BUt any constraints of playing budget within the EFL rules does not mean we actually have the money to spend. That is a completely different matter. Regardless, of greater significance, is the limitation of the squad size. Any new players coming in would not only have to displace a current member in that squad, their salaries will also now be included in the allowable salary cap. Hence, regardless of your views on Ogogo, his return to the playing squad would be problematic in terms of balancing the budget. So getting that striker in January, that just about every other club will be looking for, should be easy then! p.s - Bloody awful game yesterday! UTG!

I can't see why Ogogo or Bennett returning to the squad would be anymore of an issue than us signing any other players, has they would just have to replace another squad member such as Liddle or Tutonda, who both rarely play in any event, as both of those players salaries would be based on the notional salary figure not their actual salaries. It's signing in a demand striker on a good contract which could be an issue.

January is always a difficult month to get early signatures but with 8 games in the month I sincerely hope we can find a loan keeper and a striker early in the month. As others have also identified we have several players we need to get out on loan.
Regarding Tutonda he was outstanding in his first couple of games for us, followed up with several indifferent/poor performances and has now gone missing from the squad. Would love to know more about what's going on with him.

I'm not sure we'll look at bringing a keeper in unless Jaakkola is out long term or we take a chance on a youngster who wont count towards a squad place. Otherwise if one comes in he'll take a place in the 22 man squad which will mean either we carry 3 keepers or JVS has to be loaned out, unless of course we're willing to pay him just to train.

JVS in goal will send us down! I'd even go for the ex Rovers keeper that has recently been released from Forest Green over this clown.

Theball was intercepted close to half way line, still a fair amount to do before scoring. Happens regularly in matches I watch in the Premier league and Championship. These errors by the top keepers quite often lead to goals being scored so an occasional miskick by a lower league keeper must be expected. Unfortunately our back up keeper is not as good as our number one, as is the case with all clubs at our level. Someone above has mentioned that Adam Smith, who since he left us has failed miserably and is now picking the ball out of the net on a regular basis for Yeovil would be better. I can remember game after game when he played for us he hardly stopped a shot and the majority of the fan base were delighted when he was shipped out. Be careful of what you wish for I say, even Anssi has made a few mistakes this season and the thought we can bring in a mistake free keeper at this level is very unlikely when even top class keepers make mistakes. Stand up messers De Gea, Pickford etc etc. My priority as it has been since last season is to bring in another striker and I would suggest is what we need ASAP.

Let's be honest JVS is not a league goalie either, god knows who decided to bring him over from Holland and offer him a 2 year contract.
I can't understand why a goalie can't learn how to consistently kick the ball upfield, that surely can't be that difficult?

I agree with Topper. In playing in goal for over 30 years I cant recall slipping over many times but JVS always looks like he is going to slip over when he kicks the ball. In fact his distribution is pretty poor all round and to add to that his positioning on the shot after his mistake was very poor too. The angle the player was on he should never have been able to score with such a weak shot. Kilgour whilst playing better unfortunately lacks consistency and co9ncentration and his mistakes although not that many are regularly ending up in the net.

JVS is miles off the pace in my view and I agree may well send us down if he has to have a run in the side. The kick and soft shot going in killed us on Saturday (not that we were very good but it is the margins).

In an ideal scenario I would like an old head centre back. A defensive midfielder and an old head striker to be signed. Sending 4 or 5 of the first team squad out on loan for 6 months.
Aside from that I would like the club to adopt a scheme of bringing in former players who have done well to talk to/mentor players who occupy their playing position. Not particularly on the training pitch but just passing on things they found helpful in their careers.
Nathan Ellington or jason Robert's to chat with Hanlan. Jamie cureton with Daly . Vaughan Jones with leahy , mark Walter's with nicholson etc etc.
