I have nothing against footballers or managers earning a secondary crust by doing some journalism or punditry but this article in the Mail today has annoyed me and a few others. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9155507/Pep-Guardiola-saying-Manchester-City-playing-better-running-makes-perfect-sense.htmlAbove is an article about an in-depth review of Man C and how they are playing/adapting their game as they go into the season. A fascinating read you might say. However, we are constantly hearing from Tis how “he’s only been here X amount of weeks/games” “he doesn’t know his players well enough yet” “he’s not aware fully of what Rodman can do” as an example of his excuses for things so far. Question, why is Tisdale involving himself in such paper talk when we currently sit just above the relegation zone and he clearly has a bundle of homework to do on Bristol Rovers? Paul Tisdale brands himself of a student of the game, with an meticulous approach and a keen eye for facts figures and numbers so why isn’t he studying us in the same way as Man C so he has an idea of his best formation, a plan b and c, to know that Upson and Grant defo can’t play together, that Rodman can be very useful at the moment? The list goes on. I would suggest Tis stops all the extra curricular stuff he’s doing at the moment and make Bristol Rovers his project and get us ticking and winning games regardless of who is available for selection. I can guess exactly where this opinion has come from. Other than my own. Shoot some names..!!

Can we throw some eggs at Chris Hargreaves as well? He goes on the telly box for National League games when he should be studiously and meticulously thinking about every single one of our academy kids 24/7. Disgusting behaviour.

Going back to the OP...my point was 90 -180 mins of watching Man C would be better spent watching previous games of us or our players?
We're not playing Man C, no one in the Man C team is going to come to us, so its wasted energy. All the more so when we are in a relegation dog fight.

I would say thats useful though, he gets to watch National League prospects for the club! Also our U23 downwards is in a very good place whereas our first team is an utter shambles.

To suggest that he is not entitled to some time to himself and to absorb some information about football that is not directly related to his job, is incredibly harsh. I believe you would not be saying this about our manager, if you had supported the appointment. Negative bias here.

Where did it say he's been watching 90-180 mins of Man C instead of us, or have I missed something??? He's giving his view on something Guardiola said last week and uses examples from both his playing days and managing MK Dons. The only references to Man City are because it was their manager who made the comment.

He wasn’t my first choice as Manager either, but can’t you see he is entitled to have some time to himself. If he spends that time listening to Pep (who has achieved an awful lot as a manager) and writing a few paragraphs on his thoughts, so what - it doesn’t mean he spends any less time on watching our players than he would walking his dog daily.

Seems perfectly reasonable for him to do this in his spare time, why not? 1981, it's very clear that you still have reservations about Tisdale as you were very much against his appointment. I really respect you as a poster, however this seems to me to be just nit-picking because you don't like him, and I think you're better than that. I have to say the jury is still out for me on Tisdale but willing to see what happens with more of his own players in.

It doesn't matter whether I or you or anyone else actually likes Tisdale or not, the point is that to say he's not allowed time to watch other football or to do anything he wants to do in his spare time, is unfair. I'd have said the same about any manager.

Trust me, no one wants to be proven wrong that Tis appointment wasn’t the right one more than me, I want Tis to succeed. I just want to try and understand some of the baffling comments that he’s been making and the bizarre in game decisions that have loads of fans on Twitter during games questioning also. I also want someone 100% committed to our cause. To add some balance, I also found it weird that Ian Holloway still wrote about us in the BP when he was manager of Grimsby with them in all sorts of trouble.

Agree. He can't watch Rodman at 8pm on a Saturday night. but he can write an article. I would rather he is watching football than "come dancing" Come Dancing ? Didn't that stop in 90's ?
