To suggest that he is not entitled to some time to himself and to absorb some information about football that is not directly related to his job, is incredibly harsh. I believe you would not be saying this about our manager, if you had supported the appointment. Negative bias here. Not really. Trust me, no one wants to be proven wrong that Tis appointment wasn’t the right one more than me, I want Tis to succeed. I just want to try and understand some of the baffling comments that he’s been making and the bizarre in game decisions that have loads of fans on Twitter during games questioning also. I also want someone 100% committed to our cause. To add some balance, I also found it weird that Ian Holloway still wrote about us in the BP when he was manager of Grimsby with them in all sorts of trouble. I never doubted that you want Tisdale to succeed. To be honest I think it would be a very rare and very sad fan that would genuinely want any manager or player to fail at the Gas, as by extension obviously they'd be wanting the club to fail. Fair enough questioning some of his tactics/substitutions etc, as that's all subjective. I do wonder what sort of "baffling comments" you're referring to though? I'm not doubting he's made some comments some people wouldn't agree with, but what in particular do you find baffling? Your desire to have someone that is 100% committed to the cause is fine, but do you accept that football managers should be allowed a reasonable amount of downtime each day/week, to get on with their own hobbies/activities? For some it might be walking the dog, for others it might be cooking, others it might be model trains, who knows and frankly who cares? For Tisdale it might be that one of his hobbies is watching and/or analysing Premier League football, and writing a small article about it from time to time. Tisdale and Holloway won't be the only ones to do this. To say that this means they're not 100% committed to the cause, is unfair in my opinion. I mean, would you think that your colleagues/clients/employees would consider you to be taking your eye off the ball, because you started a thread on Gaschat about an article you read on a newspaper website, that you didn't like? It's your time, your hobbies, your life.

Let me see if I've got this thread correct.
Our manager has a healthy and analytical interest in football?
Outrageous!

So the fact he commented on a Premiership side now means he's not committed? I'd say having a break from Rovers for a few hours a week is probably a good move, or do you feel he should spend every living hour concentrating on Rovers? How about the fact he's running extended training sessions meaning his pre-match interviews have to take place late in the afternoon rather than first thing in the morning, doesn't that seem a positive move? As far as his game decisions, I sense we just have to live with those as he's got a reputation for not being the quickest to bring on subs etc, but the BoD should have known that when they appointed him.

Everybody thought it was a good move when DC got his coaching licenses but perhaps we should have been questioning why he wasn't spending every minute of the day on Rovers rather than spending his personal time getting himself extra qualifications!!!

Can we throw some eggs at Chris Hargreaves as well? He goes on the telly box for National League games when he should be studiously and meticulously thinking about every single one of our academy kids 24/7. Disgusting behaviour. I would say thats useful though, he gets to watch National League prospects for the club! Also our U23 downwards is in a very good place whereas our first team is an utter shambles. 🤡

Good managers learn from the best. If PT was not watching higher level football I would be worried. If he is doing it in his spare time then he gets extra brownie points.

A and B-list celebrities etc. refuse to do interviews etc. with the Daily Mail. I would hope that PT will reconsider writing for them.

It's your time, your hobbies, your life. Around 8-10 years ago there was a programme about the affects of stress and they actually followed Holloway, in his daily routine and how he was working. That programme probably helped Ollie in his habits and maybe even saved him from stress related illness such as heart problems and certainly blood pressure. Ollie has referred back to it, several times. Each one of us needs downtime but most don’t think about it until they have been ill. Prevention much better than cure. To suggest he is not committed is laughable and tragic, in my opinion. Tisdale is trying to work with , in my view, probably the most unbalanced, overloaded and weak squad than any new manager has had, at Rovers. He is a man with a point to prove and , in my view, we are lucky to have him. The damage done, by our wonder kid , aided by Tommy W is a mammoth task for anyone. If anyone deserves some time and patience then it’s him. He has inherited an awful and large squad and our better players have been injured. I do think he will get us playing better & winning but it’s going to take a lot of work, to get the squad up to muster and to offload the worst of this huge squad. I can’t see him having much, if any budget as the wonder kid brought so many in.
