Odds have lengthen. 25/1 now. As stated to Garner like. The things I’d say where he is different to Garner is he has worked in the lower leagues and non-league before. Garner had only coached in under age football and higher than us. Garner had some experience coaching at Sutton United.

Back in to 2/1 with skybet. I must say this doesn’t sit well with me for reasons stated already on this thread. Nothing against the bloke and if he gets it he’ll get my full support but just doesn’t seem very logical after the BG experiment.

I wouldn't read too much into that, literally every out of work manager/coach has had their odds shortened by some wally putting daft money on it because their Nan's neighbour put in some dado rails in the bar/changing room last week and saw a young man with the number plate JR08 ERY come into the carpark. I'm pretty sure Jim McLean was favourite for 48 hours despite being dead.

I had 14/1 on Albert Prince-Cox. what's the ppg for his last 8 geames It doesn't matter when you've got this much swag. A reasonably successful manager and commercial manager at the Rovers. TG can only dream of having the foresight to give us the quarters and the Pirates nickname!

TW on new manager...
“It has to be somebody who’s able to work with the squad and have a relative knowledge of the squad and the level”
If he says level as in squad level fair enough but if he means level as in the division we are playing in then surely Rowberry won’t be the new manager.

All the players Garner brought in are Garneresque so I can see where they are coming from with this. No point in bringing in somebody to take us down while waiting for the window to open to make wholesale changes to suit their so-called philosophy yet again.

Was Phil Bater’s assistant at Mangotsfield and helped develop the likes of Ollie Clarke and Andrew Hughes. Very, very good coach who has experience at different levels. That’s as maybe but Garner was a highly rated coach too. We need a manager, not a coach and giving a coach his first manager’s job with 15 or so games to beat relegation would be profoundly ridiculous, even for Rovers. Unless of course the board feel that relegation is an acceptable price to pay in order to re-boot this development of kids model. That really wouldn’t surprise me. But then again if that was the case then we might as well had stuck with the Garner project. It really has been an almighty balls up ever since the day Garner arrived.

If this guy gets the gig I might spend my Saturdays focussing on getting my damp garage up to scratch.

Or TW is already covering his back. I.e. "this is what I think, if that isn't what comes in it's not my fault - I told you it needed to be someone with experience of this level"

Starnes said we were having a thorough recruitment process last time then hired Tisdale the next day so I wouldn’t hang your hat on anything the board says. They will want a quiet personality first and foremost so that’s why I can’t see Barton being given the job.

Personally don't think Rowberry is the right man to take over when we're hovering just above the relegation zone and have just 11 weeks to pick up 8+ wins from 20 games.
As TW said, we need somebody that knows L1 very well and knows a bit about our squads strengths and weaknesses. Somebody that can make an immediate impact.
Barton is the only man who seems to tick all these boxes having managed in L1 this season and been pretty successful during his 3 years at Fleetwood.
