I know plenty which could fall into your first example if you were to delete accordingly and a few of the second but most of the City fans I know are half decent, quite normal people funnily enough. I also know and have been unfortunate enough to meet a lot of Rovers who are not either of those descriptions and I know which I prefer. Swings and roundabouts but I do find quite a few Rovers supporters are way above their station, even to the point of delusion. That’s not aimed at you by the way. I once worked on a small building site with a loud-mouthed City fan and an equally loud-mouthed Rovers fan (both of them young, in fairness). I kept my preference to myself. One lunch-time they had a particularly vociferous row, which culminated in an appeal to the site foreman for judgement. He said, "I think anybody who has the slightest interest in a stupid game like football is a ". They both accepted that with silly grins! Why can't people accept that someone who supports a team other than their own has the same interest as themselves. Jointly, we all follow the beautiful game - so why get ugly? Banter, yes - bring it on, it's part of the fun, but don't get vitriolic. Here endeth the sermon. Sorry about that. I think it’s things like burning down our stadium, threatening our players in their homes, taking our best players out of spite, disclosing transfer amounts....stuff like that.

To be fair C*ty are a bigger club than Bournemouth Not now they’re not 4 years in the prem makes Bournemouth by far the superior side and currently attracting the Cv’s of John Terry, Thierry Henry etc - the stock is much much higher once they’ve been in the prem that stuff lingers it pervades the club like the whiff of school cabbage Ipswich , Wigan , Sunderland , Huddersfield they’ve all been there and they can all lord that over city all day long don’t mistake the size of the town with the stature of the club if that was the case the sh** or us or both would be top 6 prem I meant in terms of the clubs history, fan base and stadium. Bournemouth have been criticised for not investing in their infrastructure while in the Premier League. Their ground holds less than The Mem!

I don't like their club one bit, but why do you say "they" as if all of them have the same opinion? Some are dickheads, some aren't. Some talk total BS, some don't. Same with Gasheads and any other fanbase. Banter between the two sets of fans is great, but I wouldn't want any of them to tar us on here with the same brush. Let's not do it with them as well. I know two types of city fan (with a few noticeable exceptions) - Tattoo of “england” on forearm, poor quality cocaine and cider hooligan from BS3, fights a lot. Works in the trades. Often with baseball cap. - Sneering corporate football fan “oh, you don’t support Rovers? I’d never take my kids to watch that level of football” type. There are some exceptions. You must work on the same jobs I do! Have come across a vast amount of absolute specimens who fit your exact description!

You’re entitled to your opinion but personally I wouldn’t give any weight to city’s history when comparing the stature of both clubs presently city are the ultimate wannabe premier league side and there’s no doubt if they ever made that leap they would then attract better players and managers their fans are convinced they are a big club when anyone worth a jot in football continue to deride Bristol footballs perennial underachievement with benevolent tolerance and comedic disdain making that leap is easier said than done not to mention painfully expensive and I just don’t think Bristol sport have the appetite to pump the necessary loot into the project when they have many more money making distractions

I used to see a lot of the other type. One absolute CSF idiot who learned I was a gashead and literally tried starting a fight over it. At a music festival. He had a massive bottle of Natch and I tried to diffuse it by saying “mate, I can see you’ve been on the southmead champagne, I don’t want to fight you” He then went mental saying “it’s not southmead champagne it’s hartcliffe champagne” as if that really mattered. Absolute cock. He was a couple of stones lighter than me, I was in my prime and I would have belted him out of the arena if I wanted to. Sadly I’m an adult who isn’t willing to fight random people over football alliegiences.
