Clear clash with the board there. Which doesn’t seem to be mirrored onto Wael himsef
The whole supporting the club stuff seems a bit odd. Never heard of this until he was appointed.

PT and TW fell out then.

I think you could infer that from what TW has been saying in his interviews recently. It is clear he has put a squad together that he feels is capable of being competitive in league one and Tisdale disagreed. The ‘keep it simple’ and ‘give clear instructions’ comments last night from Tommy were also a clear dig at Tis too. It’s obvious that the relationship broke down.

Think it's pretty clear from the statement that Tisdale and Widdrington didn't get on.

I agree it seems that PT and TW did not see eye to eye. TW would not have taken kindly to Tisdale criticising the recruitment, and I did not agree with Tisdale criticising the strikers in public. However, I do actually see his point in that the squad is imbalanced. Is it good enough to stay in L1? Yes I believe it is. Is it good enough for the objectives set by the board? I don't think so.
Tisdale obviously tried his best, but it wasn't a good fit with him and TW as DoF. I remember thinking at the time of the appointment that I wonder how PT would perform/act under a DoF, as he had previously said he didn't feel DoF roles were worthwhile when you have a good manager, didn't he? It seems evident now, that it was not a good match after all.

Time for a Mansell/Hargreaves appointment maybe. With TW as DoF a "big name" is going to find it hard. The board and TW have confidence in the coaching staff and the squad. Everything we are doing seems targeted at creating a new Rovers way. Only way to do this maybe appoint from within?

Maher was Coughlan's man and Mesure was Garner's man that he knew from his time going all the way back to his Sutton United days. It's not like the club actively went out to head hunt these people as part of a wider vision.

Goodness me, this guy seriously has some sort of self-aggrandisement complex.
"I know I could have really made a difference in their careers".
What the hell? By your own admission, Paul they are at the start of their careers. What are you talking about? You don't know what their careers hold for them, they could end up in the premiership and playing for England. What a bizarre comment.
As for that "boyhood club" rubbish, I always felt like we were being grifted from the very start when he brought up that "10 years old" academy stuff. I'm even more convinced of it now he's started saying this ... when has he ever mentioned anything about Rovers ever in his entire career before this?

leaguemanagers.com/news/lma-latest/paul-tisdale-statement/PAUL TISDALE STATEMENT STATEMENT RELEASED ON BEHALF OF PAUL TISDALE MY CLUB It is with deep sadness that I have departed BRFC. The club that I have supported since I was a boy. I joined the academy as a 10-year-old and can now say that I had the privilege to manage the club I supported...if only for 12 weeks. My biggest disappointment is missing the opportunity to manage a match at the Memorial Stadium packed with home supporters. PLAYERS I would like to thank the players for their commitment and efforts. In a short space of time, I felt a tangible improvement in their performances. They were truly great to coach. The performances they gave in my time as manager were a credit to them. (Especially in my last two when we needed a result so badly). I wish them the very best of luck with the remainder of the season and in their future careers. Coaching and developing players is both my forte and my passion and despite some difficult results the players always listened and gave everything for the team. In the space of only 3 months, I have forged some very strong relationships and will be monitoring their careers closely. I know I could have really made a difference in their careers. DIFFICULT TIMES Covid has made everyone’s lives incredibly challenging, and despite a host of logistical difficulties, it was a privilege to be working and doing what I love. Given more time, I’m sure I could have brought joy and pride to the fans following us from home. Football has never been so important. FRUSTRATIONS I leave my role with the full knowledge that I could not have given more to the role. Sadly, it became clear that differences of opinion regarding the balance of the squad and how we should move forward meant that working together would have become frustrating for all concerned. I understand the nuances of operating within a larger hierarchical structure and I have always strived to collaborate with those around me. This doesn’t mean my feeling for the club changes in any way. Whoever is in charge, I wish the club every success in the future. THANK YOU I’d like to thank the club President Wael for my appointment in late November. I really appreciate the opportunity. To the friendly staff around the club who made me feel very welcome - these long-serving people will always be the very soul of any club - I urge you to retain the joy in being part of the BR family. And most importantly to the players who tried so hard. I will always respect them for that. March on. Tis

It seems evident now, that it was not a good match after all. I think Paul Tisdale did an interview where he stated that he believed the best way was to have a manager that had full reign of everything, the coaching, scouting, finance etc, and it came across that he wasn't a fan of the DOF model or a hierarchy from manager to boardroom. I found that interesting, especially considering that most of his success was at Exeter where they had Steve Perryman as DOF, I remember saying at the time, that Tisdale seems a strange appointment if that's the way he feels about a DOF. Tisdale was just a rushed, panic appointment with no real thought involved in it.

The friction was obvious from Widdrington's comments and for whatever reason they couldn't work together. Do they have any history?
What I find interesting and wonder is what a manager does when he comes into a club? Do they do one to one's, group chats etc? Tisdale came in and was saying, I need to get to know the players and in theory Tommy could/should help there. Strengths, weaknesses, why x,y,z were signed (Ayunga seems a case in point based off, of last night). Compare that to DC's interview at Port Vale

Compare that to DC's interview at Port Vale I don't know whether there's any history between them but I reckon they're just 2 completely different characters with completely different methods. Widdrington is very much like DC, I think you can clearly see why they are mates, brutally honest, straight to the point, no nonsense, wear their heart on there sleeve types. Whereas Tisdale came across, imo anyway, more meticulous, calculating with just a completely different way of communicating and over complicating things certainly in interviews.

Fair play to him for a very good insightful statement. As he does us, I for one wish him every success in the future. UTG!

Tisdale is middle class Tommy is working class Abbreviated, but these are the main communication difficulties between the 2 classes. WC - generally honest, but confrontational and lacking in tact. Appears brutish and unrefined to the middle classes MC - careful with words, sugar coats, considers others, doesn’t go head on. Appears sneaky to the WC. As a WC person in a MC career I’ve noticed this misunderstanding a lot.

When Starnes hired Tisdale he said he was the perfect fit and his and the board targets for the club were aligned! . Will the next manager be another perfect fit I wonder ??🤔 On that basis let's hope not!!
