I certainly have more belief in Barton than I do Tisdale. No nonsense, common sense, positive, confidence building, with direction. Totally the opposite to what we have endured previously.

i really think he needs to play Ayunga up top as the targetman and Hanlan alongside him. I know they6 aren't thhe best players but they are all we have and unless Joey knows an out of contract striker we are stuck with them.

I was on the ‘wrong side of a few sherberts’ after last night but was impressed with Joey’s enthusiasm and optimism - he’s been dealt a crappy hand and I wish I shared his optimism, but sadly imo the chickens are coming home to roost. I hope he sticks with the club and is part of of the team rebuilding process for next season and is given total responsibility for identifying the players he needs and wants at the club. A sad state of affairs and hopefully the one person left at the club who helped to orchestrate this mess is held totally responsible - imo he is now a luxury we can no longer afford. Captain Gas responsible? Assume he's on furlough anyway? Or on Somali coast earning?

Too early to judge so I'm not thinking beyond the next game. Words and hype don't win games so in that way nothing's changes for me. I like what Joey has done at Fleetwood and I like that he's young and enthusiastic. However I do worry about his past misdemeanors. I don't think we will know what sort of manager we have till the hype dies down and we can see the effect he's having on performances.

Really think hes going to struggle with the staff he has, he says he will coach the back 4 but all those guys have been told how to defend since they were 10 years old the basics of defending , not sure 12 years on the penny is going to drop, they would have been told how too by numerous managers, 3 this season . At some point he will see that these guys just dont listen or are just not good enough, truth told 5 or 6 of these players are in the top 10 of the worse i have seen in decades wear the shirt and there has been some bad ones.

What was worrying in his first interview was how the players looked relaxed and not too despondent when he first met them. That surely must say a lot of this squads character in that they dont give two hoots about the situation we are in.just passing through that's all they have ever looked like

I am not saying play up front on his own as NEITHER of them are suited to that-rather play together.

Mate he can t say he could not hit a barn door, that's what Tearsdale said, needs to get him some confidence, Tommy signed and collected left backs with no experienced striker, he needs to go.

I don't think our performance last night was bad, quite the opposite, we played well and ended up having 20 attempts. The whole set up of the team and tactics were much more positive than that of Garner and Tisdale.. Regarding words and hype, JB can hardly say in post match, we have no chance, he has to talk up everything as much as possible, to give the players some belief. I can accept that he is doing that, if he was saying we aren't good enough, we don't like scoring goals well what would be the point. That's what end Tisdale tenure here, JB is not a magician either, but he can perhaps use his interview to inspire and install confidence.

Barton is clever and worded his interview very well regarding the players without causing a stir, I’m looking forward to his press conference after three defeats! That will be interesting.

As JB says, we all know the problems and he is clearly trying to show confidence in the players he has.
Got my doubts if there can be the sea-change needed to eliminate recurring defensive errors and to start creating and converting clear chances in the time available in this hectic season.
Still we can only hope. If we do not pick up points in the next couple of games then we enter the phase where a miracle will be needed to save us from the drop.

No doubt about it. However Hanlan can be bigged up as much as people wish. Sadly the bloke offers absolutely nothing to the team. His chances/goals ratio is worse than Mattee Tees was. Didnt think I would live long enough to make a statement like that. It bloody hurts though.

I never said that they have any bearing on whether we stay up or not and the hype I was referring to had nothing to do with his post match comments. We lost so the performance was not good enough imo we needed a result. I am fully behind Joey Barton and I want him to succeed, but I think it's too early know if he will.
