I'm back after my latest ban!
For what it's worth I'm a bit fed up of hearing his interview is good or he speaks well etc. Fact is we failed on his first task. That might seem harsh but he's been watching us for a few weeks and there's no time for niceties. He needs to hit the ground running. I'll be judging this manager on the pitch.

Really think hes going to struggle with the staff he has, he says he will coach the back 4 but all those guys have been told how to defend since they were 10 years old the basics of defending , not sure 12 years on the penny is going to drop, they would have been told how too by numerous managers, 3 this season . At some point he will see that these guys just dont listen or are just not good enough, truth told 5 or 6 of these players are in the top 10 of the worse i have seen in decades wear the shirt and there has been some bad ones. I think the difference isn’t that Barton will tell them anything revolutionary. No managers really do that. The main difference will be those players will have Joey Barton coaching them, a household name who’s played at the highest level. Before it was some bloke who has only done well in league 2. I’ve had managers I’ve known don’t know it as well as I do. I’ve had ones I know can teach me things. Big difference. This isn’t to downplay Tis as I think he is a good manager, I’m just saying there’s an X factor with Barton. The other main difference is what he does in training and that can make a big difference. Some managers play to a teams strengths. This seems to have been the approach. JB was clear it was about changing the things which are wrong. I’m almost certain that if the team practice set pieces non stop all season, this will make an impact. It’s been the missing piece. Let’s be honest, a few years ago JB was working with the best players and coaches in the game. You can’t say he won’t bring a good level of expertise

Unfortunately there was no time for training either, just our luck we've now got form team Shrewsbury up next rather than Wigan, after Barton and co have had a couple of training sessions. With foresight perhaps the club should have forget about PR photos at the training ground and just let Barton work with the players.

The club seem to have forgotten about Joey entirely, never mind PR photos. He seems to have been left alone to do his thing. No thumbs aloft pics with Wael and Starnes, no joint press conference with his DoF Widders. Very odd. Maybe that's how JB wants it?

Should have just left the job to someone already at the club like Widdrington. If Widdrington felt the players were good enough he had the chance to prove it. Then a new manager can come in the summer and clear the chaff. Burton and Shrewsbury have both improved massively as a result of the January transfer window. Barton doesn't have that. So, with the inability to sign any replacements or have any sustained period on the training ground i'm not sure what he can add for the remainder of the season really. The big plus is having Clint Hill joining him, but as stated before, with so little time to train the players will it make much difference in such a short space of time?

I think the remaining games give Joey Barton the chance to see first hand who the fighters are, who the talented players and who are those that are coasting. I am 100% of the opinion he stays regardless, the players need to step up and get point on the board and prove why they should be here next season or they will make it easier for Joey to say they aren't good enough.

Hoping we continue to get better results against better teams (Pompey and Peterboro recently, but throughout season) starting Saturday. If JB is still "Mr 0%" after the weekend, I think relegation is almost certain.

I’m not a fan of these “must win” games, th other night folk kept saying it’s a “must win”, we lost ,now th next is “must win” for JB.
th job is to improve our play an results will follow, we “must get enough points ta stay up” by May

Mick McCarthy at Cardiff has gone from 6 straight defeats to something like 6 wins a couple of draws with virtually the same squad as Neil Harris, so it is possible to turn things around, assuming that our squad's got what it takes to back up TW's comments.
